Victor is a highly valued manager for the company where he has served for 15 years. Each year he advances in level because his strategies are effective and efficient, generating satisfaction for management, which brings benefits in terms of profitability, which translates into extra bonuses for everyone in the company, from the highest level to the maintenance staff. Because of this, everyone feels proud to be part of it.

They have been observing Victor for a few months. They notice that his physical appearance has changed slightly, despite the fact that he has always been very careful with it. They see him distracted; he no longer has the professionalism that has always distinguished him, which makes him so supreme in the company. However, his treatment of everyone is humble.

Victor is experiencing problems in his family life that he hasn't yet revealed. He tries to hide it very well, although they've already noticed it in his eyes because he seems to be sleeping very little or not at all. His breath has already smelled of alcohol. Sometimes they think he celebrated last night, although it's becoming very repetitive.

His superiors, upon hearing the rumors, continued to observe him until one day they confronted him. They asked him what was happening, why he'd been on sick leave. They practically forced him to share his suffering, which has led him to turn to alcohol and has caused his performance to be poor after having achieved important goals.

Victor's sobs couldn't be controlled; his crying was like a child's. Until they calmed him down.

He said that his wife was diagnosed with an illness for which they haven't yet found a solution, or given them any solution, or what can be done about it. He's had to leave the children alone because he's the only one who cares for his wife. He also has to attend to his duties at the company, although he's already realized that what he's doing is hurting himself. He's drowning in this situation, feels like he can't get help, and it hurts him not to be able to give more for his young children. His wife is the one who controls everything in the home, so he's had to learn some basic household chores, such as doing chores.

As for why he drinks, he feels it's the only way to forget a little and makes him sleep for a few hours. Deep down, he knows he's not well, but his mind is dominating him. Even though there's no alcohol in his house, he slips away at night, going to a bar to get drunk. When he gets home, he doesn't have the courage to look at his wife and young children sleeping the way they are.

When Victor calmed down and shared his pain, his superiors told him they were with him, gave him days to get organized, gave him guidance regarding the children, and found someone to care for them at home. He and his wife called the best doctors, friends and family members of their superiors, to re-examine his wife, conduct all the necessary evaluations, and find the best way to handle the case. For the time being, Victor's first decision was to stop drinking so he could think more clearly.

So, Victor, as the best manager in the company, began to pick himself up and realized how much an emotional situation can affect work performance, something that sometimes happens without us even realizing it. Every human being must be respected in their personal and professional lives.

Víctor es un Gerente de mucho valor para la empresa dónde lleva 15 años de servicio, cada año sube de nivel porque sus estrategias son eficaces y eficientes, generando satisfacciones a los directivos, lo que trae beneficios en cuanto a rentabilidad lo que se traduce en bonos extras para todos en la empresa, desde el nivel más alto hasta el personal de mantenimiento. Por ello, todos se sienten orgullosos de formar parte de ella.

Vienen observando a Víctor desde hace unos meses, se dan cuenta que su apariencia física ha cambiado un poco a pesar que siempre ha sido muy cuidadoso con ella. Lo ven distraído, ya no tiene ese profesionalismo con el que siempre se ha destacado que lo hace muy supremo en la empresa, igual su trato con todos es con humildad.

Víctor está presentado problemas en su vida familiar que aún no los manifiesta, trata de ocultarlo muy bien aunque ya lo han notado en sus ojos porque parece que no duerme nada, o duerme muy poco, su aliento ya se ha lo han notado con olor a alcohol, a veces creen que celebró en la noche aunque ya es muy repetitivo.

Sus superiores al oír los rumores siguieron observándolo hasta que un día lo enfrentaron, le preguntaron qué estaba pasando, porqué esa baja que ha tenido, prácticamente lo obligaron a contar su sufrimiento, que lo ha llevado a refugiarse en el alcohol y ha hecho que su rendimiento sea deficiente después de haber obtenido logros importantes.

Los sollozos de Víctor no pudieron con él, su llanto fue como un niño. Hasta que lo calmaron.

Contó que su esposa se le diagnosticó una enfermedad de la cual aún no han buscado solución o no les han dado solución o que se puede hacer al respecto. Los niños ha tenido que dejarlos solos porque sólo el atiende a su esposa, así mismo debe atender sus funciones en la empresa, aunque ya se dio cuenta que lo que está haciendo es afectarse. Está ahogado en esta situación, siente que no consigue ayuda y le duele no poder dar más por sus pequeños hijos, su esposa es quien controlaba todo en el hogar donde él ha tenido que aprender cosas de funcionamiento en el hogar ejemplo los oficios.

En cuanto a porqué bebe, siente que es la única manera de olvidar un poco y lo hace dormir unas horas, en sus adentros sabe que no está bien pero su mente lo domina, a pesar que en su casa no hay alcohol, se aparta un poco en la noche asistiendo a un bar a llenarse de él. Cuando llega a casa, no tiene el valor de mirar a su esposa y a sus pequeños niños dormidos en la forma como lo están haciendo.

Al calmarse Víctor y contar sus dolores, el equipo de los superiores le comentaron que están con él, le dieron días para que se organice, lo orientaron con respecto a los niños, buscando una persona que los atienda en casa, con su esposa llamaron a los mejores médicos amigos y familiares de sus superiores para volver a revisar a su esposa, hacer todas las evaluaciones pertinentes y encontrar la mejor manera de llevar ese caso. Por los momentos lo primero que Víctor decidió fue retirar la bebida para poder pensar mejor.

Así Víctor como el mejor gerente de la empresa comenzó a levantarse y se dio cuenta de todo lo que puede afectar una situación emocional en el rendimiento laboral, cosa que a veces pasa sin darnos cuenta. Cada ser humano debe ser respetado en su vida personal y laboral.
