In our day today lives, every decision we make and every interaction we have is influenced by a set of values that we carry within us. These principles not only guide our actions but also shape our relationships and affect our happiness. This weekend, while participating in this [Weekend-Engagement: WEEK 255](https://hive.blog/hive-168869/@galenkp/weekend-engagement-topics-week-255), I will be responding to a question that aligns with this topic, which is the following:
>Which do you feel is more important? Rank all of the following from most to least important and explain why: Manners, communication skills, relationship-building, honesty, generosity and humility.

## Honesty

Without a doubt, honesty is one of the most important things to me, as I believe it constitutes the foundation of any relationship, whether friendship, work, romantic, or familial. Being honest allows us to express ourselves sincerely about what we truly feel and transforms our interpersonal relationships into a safe space. Honesty makes us more trustworthy and likely to experience calm. On the contrary, I feel that a lack of honesty can only generate conflicts and uncomfortable situations. I truly believe that lying does not lead to anything positive and can harm our image in front of others because “the truth always comes to light.” Regaining trust in someone who has not been honest is a challenging task. Moreover, I think being honest goes beyond simply speaking the truth; it involves acting according to what we say and being ourselves regardless of the context.

## Humility

I consider that being humble is almost as important as being honest. Acknowledging that we have flaws and that we are not perfect makes us more human and often facilitates good interpersonal relationships in any area. Personally, I cannot stand people who lack empathy or who consider themselves superior to others for superficial reasons; I do not find people without humility pleasant. Likewise, I believe that humility is key to coexisting with others, collaborating effectively, and opening ourselves up to the possibility of learning new things, which allows us to become better every day.

## Generosity

Generosity is also something very important and has a strong impact on our interpersonal relationships. It’s about giving without expecting anything in return, whether it’s your time, resources, or simply a bit of kindness and attention. It is a selfless act, no matter how small, and it can change someone’s day and create a positive effect on others. I feel that everyone should have a degree of generosity, as a person who lacks it cannot be considered pleasant.

## Good manners

Despite being frequently underestimated, especially in today's world, good manners are fundamental for coexistence throughout our lives, as they reflect our values. Being polite and respectful, as well as knowing how to behave in various situations, facilitates our interactions with others and makes them more enjoyable. Although they may seem superficial, a person without good manners can be truly unpleasant.

## Relationship-building

The development of meaningful relationships is a fundamental pillar in a fulfilling life. Human connections enrich our experiences, provide emotional support, and foster our personal growth. Investing time in cultivating friendships and family bonds not only improves our quality of life but also promotes an environment of reciprocity in which everyone benefits. Authentic relationships are sources of joy and resilience and often constitute the support we need in difficult times.
---
## Communication skills

I will leave knowing how to express what you feel for last, as it is not entirely essential, although it is important in interpersonal relationships. Learning to communicate what we desire, what we need, or what we feel is essential for others to understand us, which can avoid misunderstandings. Additionally, I believe this complements what we mentioned earlier about honesty, as the way we say things has a significant impact.
