A session with a physio on Tuesday had made it possible to walk almost normally. I decided to use Wednesday as a test before my weekend hiking. Plus Wednesday was the last day to stay in @poprzeczka (needed 34k steps) and a semifinal in @macfit, facing @cezary-io.
The goal had seemed impossible bearing in mind the lower back problem. I had not have any high expectations and decided to walk to Pogoria III lake (7km) and see. Feeling well there, I moved on to walk around it (6km). Still all good.
When I was pondering whether to walk back home, I met a friend. As we chatted, I found standing motionless uncomfortable and suggested a walk. She had Nordic walking sticks and dictated a pace significantly faster than mine. Interestingly, the faster pace felt good for my spine.
In the end, my step count went up to almost 40k. Writing this on Thursday morning, I feel well. Not completely fixed - bowing down to tie shoelaces is still problematic. But my hiking weekend looks like doable. I am going to use today and tomorrow for stretches and light walking.
