When i listen to music, i have things i look out for, if its not the vibes, it's the artist's rendition, the beat or the lyrics.
When it comes to good music, the lyrics are very important because then, it is uplifting and is a light to people who need it. This is not necessarily what the community specified when they welcomed writers here, this is a fuse of a cover music and why i think the song is a good music especially for therapy but I've always believed that people write because they feel afraid to speak or that people would not listen. So, today, I'll be telling you why i chose the song that i song.
First off, this is my first post on yere and i would say that I'm testing the waters. I have always loved music but have been afraid to share my voice. This journey on the vibes community is something i want to look back to and smile at the leap at opportunity and the growth. Who knows? This might just cement my active participation in the music community maybe to the point of taking music classes. I also would appreciate constructive criticisms and ways to improve since this us actually my first time taping myself on camera singing, i have always found it cringey but i also believe that part of being an artist is growing and being unapologetically yourself through the art.
Nice to meet you is a lyrical pill that heals. Music therapy is an underground changemaker leaving broken hearts mended and healing. With nice to meet you, i believe Meghan showed vulnerability in being a human and a woman loving herself. Infact, by sharing this music, she shares the sake feels with prople going through the same process and relating to it. She appreciates herself and her gifts. Here are the lyrics:
I used my makeup to hide (hide) Tellin' you There ain't nothin' I haven't tried (tried) Changed my hair But I couldn't change up my mind (my mind, mind, mind) You know I been tryna work it (yeah, yeah) You know ain't nobody perfect (yeah, yeah) Go ahead, go talk about me (me) You don't know The half of the shit that I've seen (seen) Go ahead and tell them Whatever you heard (whatchu you heard) I look different on the surface (yeah, yeah) You know ain't nobody perfect (yeah, yeah) I am blessed by the Heavens Someone's got a hold on me Sweet, but I get rough Just what I wanna be What I wanna be, just what I wanna be I don't know you, but I am blessed by the Heavens Someone's got a hold on me Sweet, but I get rough Just what I wanna be What I wanna be, just what I wanna be I don't know you But I'm just what I wanna be I used to care way too much (much) Filtered myself I thought I wasn't enough (enough) Now I'm givin' myself Nothing but love (but love, love, love) 'Cause I know that I am worth it (yeah, yeah) I know ain't nobody perfect (yeah, yeah) I am blessed by the Heavens Someone's got a hold on me Sweet, but I get rough Just what I wanna be What I wanna be, just what I wanna be I don't know you, but I am blessed by the Heavens Someone's got a hold on me Sweet, but I get rough Just what I wanna be What I wanna be, just what I wanna be I don't know you But I'm just what I wanna be
Who you gon' call when you ain't got the? Uh Me and Meghan run up in the spot like, uh I pop off 'cause I am the reignin' champ Please, no comparisons, 'cause you know they can't Had to cut the grass, there were snakes in the camp They know I'm the billy, I be laughin' Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha One minute I'm nice, the next a monster (brrrt) My guesthouse alone cost like three tickets And that Rolls truck and that paint job real wicked Used to dumb, dumb myself down for these chickens Now when dem, dem talk, I smile it be crickets Boom, I turn every head when I walk in the room Pretty in real life, hit my pics with the zoom A ten when they rate her like tomb Elevated to the penthouse We ain't stoppin' anytime soon (I'm) Blessed by the Heavens Someone's got a hold on me Sweet, but I get rough Just what I wanna be What I wanna be, just what I wanna be I don't know you But I'm just what I wanna be
oh, oh, oh (Nice to meet ya) ohh (Nice to meet ya) ohh

Ps: although this is not to the theme, it's my personal favourite and i thought to share. Plus I'm not really a 90s person although i listen to some 90s song but yes. I'll make sure to stick to the theme next time.
