Starting a business from scratch can be very scary, challenging, and risky at the same time. It all started as a thought, "What if I start making cakes for sale?" Now it's a reality. I'm so grateful to God for all he has been doing for me.
You know, sometimes we doubt ourselves too much and feel like, what if we fail after taking that big leap? We think, what if things don't work out the way we imagined them? Let me be honest with you: sometimes things don't work exactly how you pictured it in your head; life will definitely surprise you, and things might take a great turn, but there'll definitely be some setbacks, maybe not major ones, but somehow they'll try to weigh you down.
I started this business knowing it wouldn't be easy for me; combining school, Hive, and business wouldn't be an easy task, but here I am. I started on Monday, and the feedback I got from my friends and even new customers has made me so confident and happy in my skills. I intentionally took some time off Hive just to focus on my business. I would close classes around 4 and head home to start baking. I don't have an oven yet, so I use the local method, which is my gas, a pot filled with sand, and then I put my cake inside and leave to bake. This takes a lot of my time but it's worth it. On most days, I sleep around 12am or 1am and wake up by 5am to package the cakes.
If there's any advice I'd give to you, it is to "take that bold step". You don't need to have every piece of equipment before you can start your business. You can start small and grow. Trust me when I say there'll be losses here and there. I've lost a lot of money these past few days because it was my first time; I didn't know how to go about the business, I just used my intuition, and I incurred some losses, which is fine, but now I've learned and I know what I did wrong and right. I still don't have everything figured out, but I'm sure I'll do better than I did last week.
I made chocolate and vanilla cake, guys! The cakes were so yummy đ; everyone who patronized me was just singing praises about how fluffy, moist, and delicious my cakes were. They all loved how I packaged my cake; they all said it was different. You know before I started selling, I did a little bit of survey and saw that they only sold cupcakes in school. Everyone was either making cupcakes or cake slices without any packaging. They would simply just put it inside a nylon bag for you. I knew I had to come up with something unique and different. My packaging is different and new, and what's better is that even the big boys and girls of the school can buy this cake, and it would seem as if they bought it from a fancy store hehe.
So here it is, my new babyâșïž, in so glad that I've taken this step... Some time ago, I made a post in this community talking about how I'd love to start my own cake business from scratch; well, here I am đ€. God Did!

Puedes empezar poco a poco e ir creciendo.
