We are not doing according to the laws of Moses. The law of Moses said we should pay back evil for evil but in the teachings of the gospel, we are to live our enemies and do good to them that hurt us. So, as christians we are not living according to the laws of the Old Testament but we are living our lives in accordance to the doctrines of Jesus Christ.
We are not also going to live according to the traditions of men. In the world, there is no love. Men do not love one another. There are much evil everywhere because the hearts of men are full of evil. They imagine evil and do evil. There is wickedness in the world as a result of the greediness of men. We are not going to follow after such traditions. Our lives must reflect the love of God. We are called by God to live in love.
The best way to live our lives is to do what is the will of God. We are to spend our lives doing what is good to our fellow man. We should not live in selfishness. We should obey God. The person who obeys God is the one who will receive favor from God.
