It's a song of worship, adoration and praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The goodness and the mercies of God cannot be overemphasized. His glory is everywhere and he is great in all his ways. Just like the title of the song say *'He kept me'*, You will agree with me that God has actually been faithful to his promises by keeping us (his children) and this encompasses his guidance, protection and sustainability.
