Music is a therapy to our mind, soul, and spirit. I am a lover of music, though part of my challenge is due to shyness. I love good music when i listen to one. The just-concluded vibes music competition week 37 was a big hit. It was a very tough moment where lots of entries were submitted. I kept observing a lot of entries within the community, and this observation had been for so long. I just felt like sharing my experience so far in this music community, and I'm glad that writers are needed to share their opinion and experience.
Pardon my mamners, I'm @mhizfavour and these are what i draw from the past weeks. I've been listening to music of different entries for the past weeks, and this has made me learnt a lot within my time here.
This kind of competition makes you know your level of expertise in music and gives more rooms for your growth. No matter how you think someone knows music, someone still knows it better as well. Music is really diverse, and no one can boast of knowing all genres of music perfectly. There must be one or more aspects of music i might know so much that you might not know, especially in the area of traditional music, while there might be many aspects you know much more than i do.
Vibes web 3 music competition placed me in a position where i feel like i know nothing about music despite that i do sing. It made me see the need to improve better on myself and capacity. I've learnt that music follows a principle that can never be bypassed. There have been a challenge i had for long which is missing timings while singing. Metronome had greatly helped me alot. I've always wished to present a song in one of the vibe's weeks, but i feel like it's a waste of time for me now. I'll rather work on improving on my vocals, or better still, hold on to writing rather than presenting something that i might later feel unsatisfied about.
I love classicals, blues, R&B, funk, calypso, hippop, salsa, and high life. I love those old school classicals like those of Ravi Shankar, Maurice Ravel, Claudio Monteverdi, Johannes Brahms, Antonio Vivaldi, Rosetta Tharpe and so on. These were legends who made their landmark on the soil of time. Their names still speak and rings in the heart of many. I'm also a fan of christian hymnals, e.g, Christmas and Easter songs. Those festive seasons are awesome and interesting moments i love so much.
I want to use this medium to congratulate the winners of the just-concluded vibes competition week 37, and also wishes all participants the best for week 38.
