A Day at the Beach: Sun, Sand, and Friendship

 Having a day at the beach with friends is uniquely magical and hard to explain. The noise of the ocean, the sun's heat, and happy laughter will create memories that you keep forever. Let me share with you all the wonderful things I remember from one of my favorite days at the beach.  We chose to get away from our usual busy lives on a bright Saturday morning with my friends. Hearing about the great weather, we couldn’t refuse the pleasure of going to the ocean. We filled our bags with the things we needed: We got together our sunscreen, snacks, beach towels, and a portable speaker to hear our music. We filled the car with our energy, and people talked and laughed as soon as we sat down. The salty cold air came into the room through the open windows, causing us to think good things were on the way.  As soon as we arrived, the scenery was beautiful. Light from the sun danced on top of the turquoise waves, while the golden sand felt inviting. Right away, we settled ourselves on the beach. we picked up our bright towels and put up an umbrella to keep from getting too much sun. All around us were families having a good time, couples walking close to each other, and children making sandcastles. The spot felt perfect for us to relax and look out at the pretty sights. The minute we settled down, we realized how much excitement we had. Right away, we went into the ocean and felt the cool water take away the heat from the sunlight. We swam together, raced back and forth, and dived below the waves, all the while everyone was laughing.  Everyone was joyful and laughing all day. We put together beach volleyball teams and played against each other in good spirits. Every point we got was special thanks to the cheering and fun discussions. We then moved on and created a large sandcastle, including both towers and a moat. Everyone was laughing as we competed to see who could build the best part of the sandcastle. We soon headed over to the paddleboarding area and some people gave it a shot for the first time. The paddleboards weren’t easy to balance on, so we laughed a lot each time someone fell in. Doing all these things together made us feel like a group, sharing lots of private jokes and funny happenings. We all enjoyed a fun contest to find the rarest seashell the most.  Leaving town for the beach was much more important than just getting out of the house. It proved to me once more how much fun you can have when you are with your loved ones. The happiness and new memories made that day made it something I will never forget. I hope we can go back to the beach someday, since we’ll be able to make more memories and talk about the ones we made now.
