Good day hivers! On this blog, I will share to you my own experience on being one of the representatives in our first ever eco-fashion show in our school. Are you ready to witness our own inspired dress or gowns made by recycled materials and indigenous materials? Get ready as we present our own masterpiece to prove that waste and native things can still be used in many ways, without any further ado let's start!
These designs were made by the second-year students particularly BEED 2-A and third year students particularly BEED 3-A. Their design is made from indigenous materials, their costumes did really suit them. Their costume is inspired from the Ifugao Tribe, which did really amaze me because by creating this kind of costume are one of the ways to preserve our heritage. We should not let our fellow Filipinos forget their own culture or heritage.
These designs were made by BEED 3B students and that woman standing in the picture is me. I know that I am not that beautiful, but I didn't also expect that I will be the one who's going to represent our section. I did not really insist to be the representative, my classmates pushed me to represent our section. At first, I did really not accept because I know that I don't really have a passion in joining something like this. My section really wants me to represent our section, so I don't have any choice even though it was really heavy for me to take the responsibility of being a representative, I don't even know how to walk properly like a model or like a beauty queen, but my classmates told me that no matter what result may come they will still be happy because I was the one who took the responsibility to be a representative our section.

This beautiful girl is wearing their own design made from indigenous materials and recycled materials. Her dress or gown was made from sacks, seashells, plastic straw, cd's, and other plastics. For me, by looking at their gown I think the message they want to relay to the people watching is that we should protect the ocean. Taking care of the ocean is our duty because we can get our food and other necessities, every simple actions count. Be mindful with your trash because some people throw their trash into the ocean and its' not a good example to follow. By wearing their gown, she is not just simply wearing it, but the students behind this work are also spreading awareness to all people that we should always practice proper waste disposal.

This pretty girl is wearing their own designed gown, we can see that her gown is inspired from our National Flag the Philippine Flag. By wearing this gown, we can see that their section really appreciates of being a Filipino, it displays being patriotic of the Filipinos. Her head dress is like the sun (the eight-rayed sun) in the Philippine Flag, and it symbolizes people's democracy, unity, freedom, and sovereignty. The color white it represents hope for equality, the color blue symbolizes for peace, truth and justice, while the color red symbolizes patriotism and valor.

This gorgeous girl from BEED 3-C is wearing their own designed gown made from recycled materials and indigenous materials. You can see in the picture that it has leaves, cap of a soft drinks, coconut sheath, and sacks. By watching her gown, I think the message they want to rely to us is that we should also take care of the nature like the trees because some people are still into illegal logging. As a citizen in this country, we should also take care of our environment. We can plant trees so that in the future generations will still have wonderful trees.

This cute representative is from BEED also, this gown was made of recyclable materials, like paper plates and masks. Their theme is all about COVID-19, this masterpiece is also remarkable. It's because COVID-19 was one of the histories that no one could ever forget but despite of the struggles those time. Filipinos did really revolt, even though some of us did lose someone or our loved once, we did still fight, and we still did our best to rise from poverty. Thanks to the frontliners also that time because they did really do their best to do their job and serve to the country. Frontliners did sacrifice themselves just to serve our country.

This beautiful girl is wearing their designed gown, this gown was made by the BEED 2-A students. Crafted from recyclable materials, we can see in the picture that there are cd's, a handwoven mat, cap of soft drinks, and a plastic cellophane. I really like her smile, it's very natural and it's very transmissible.

Making this kind of gown was also challenging because the materials was not that a piece of cake to put together with the other materials. We did use the indigenous materials to form this kind of gown, these are the materials that we used on making this gown, coconut sheath, corn husks, anahaw leaves, and coconut shell.
While making the dress, I realized something that it's not important if I'm not that pretty because my classmates and especially my friends will always in my side. I am so grateful to have an environment like this in school, maybe sometimes there are misunderstandings, but it will not last long.
I may not be the winner but for my classmates I am the best, I really did appreciate their efforts and supports.
Their support and the presence of that one person was an enough reward for me.
Even though I didn't get the chance to hold the mic and answer the question. I still know that if I am part of the top 5, I would still slay and answer the question precisely. I am also happy for the candidates who won a title and not just those candidates who won a title but to all candidates, sections, coordinators, officers, and teachers.
Even though I did not win, I was still so proud of myself. By just standing in the front of the stage and there were so many people watching, but I still did my part which is to let other people know that fashion is not all about expensive clothes, but it's all about how you wear and also how that dress made. This masterpiece is more just a dress, it is the voice for sustainability, and it speaks to our harmonious connection to the nature.
