Sun, Sand, and Friendship: A Memorable Day at Barili Beach, Cebu

 As its name implies, Barili is a hidden treasure buried along the breathtaking coast of Cebu. It is an ideal getaway destination when one wants to lie on the beach, get some tan and have the feel of adventure. I was recently able to come to this beautiful beach with my friends and this experience was nothing short of memorable.  The minute we left to proceed down to Barili we started developing anticipations with every kilometer that we passed. The beach was rather calm and we could absorbed the relaxing environment and have fun together without any people.  The moment we were seated on the smooth, yellow sand, we did not hesitate to jump in the waters that were crystal clear. The sea was cool and refreshing which served as an excellent counter action to the hot rays of the sun. We swam hours, joked around and played beach-volley. There was lot of laughter and clapping all around the beach line, making our day songful.  Another exciting part of our tour was the tour of the surrounding rocks. Adventurously we debated whether to go beyond the beach and in time we managed to scramble over the round, rough rocks which projected out into the water. The top view was spectacular; the horizon was blank reaching ahead towards us with the sun reflecting like diamonds on the water. It was even more special by the mere joy of good food and great company.  Later on after lunch we engaged ourselves with some snorkeling. We went back in the water this time with masks and fins. It was the world of color and life under the water. There were brilliantly-colored fishes that would swim about us, and we even saw some starfish lying down the sandy bottom. The beauty of marine life amazed and fascinated us and took our trip to the beach to another level as it turned into adventure film material.  To sum up, our visit to Barili Beach was a stunning lesson to learn that it is important to take time off and have fun with friends. It was an impressive day; the beautiful landscape, interaction, and the activities provided a lot of fun. My heart was saying goodbye to barili after leaving not only with the hope of coming back once again but also with memories still waiting to be created there with friends.
