But does that mean I don't believe in education? No, on the contrary, I reaffirm that education is the best path.
When it comes to the educational system in Brazil, there are many challenges, of course, but it is by far the best way to achieve professional success, there is no doubt about that. It is worth graduating, but that has never been enough. Those who only do the basics will be left behind; it is necessary to specialize in something, do a postgraduate degree, and study which area is in demand. Researching and focusing are just some of the things you need to do to make things work out.
It's not easy; studying for a long time takes dedication and an investment of time and money. Although I've chosen a different path for myself right now, my main struggle at the moment is helping my son with his education so that he can take the college entrance exam and study at a good university. I had a serious conversation with him the other day, a conversation that must have been quite boring for him, but it was exactly about how important education is, and that sacrificing for a few years is worth it to reap good rewards in the future.
In this conversation, I mentioned that he only had a few years left to finish elementary and high school and that he should already start preparing for life. Perhaps a conversation a little too early, since he is only 13? No, it is already important to shape his mindset for what is to come and how he should prepare for the future starting now. And in that conversation, I mentioned that he could just end his educational journey there and work for 40 years in a bad job, earn poorly, and suffer for the rest of his life, or he could work hard for five or six years and have a better chance of establishing himself professionally in a good job.
The point is to think of the present as a gift, an opportunity to reap rewards. I asked him if anyone reaps rewards before planting a tree. So graduating is about that, there are no guarantees, but if you don't dig a hole in the ground, plant a seed, and water and fertilize it every day, the tree will never grow, and even if it does, there is no guarantee that it will bear fruit. But what would be the probability of fruit being produced if none of this were done? None. So this was an analogy that was easy for him to understand and accurately portrays what studying means.
Unfortunately, our country needs a little more investment not only in education but also in a general context to generate more opportunities. The market needs to be stimulated. Se tratando do sistema educacional no Brasil, existem muitos desafios, claro, mas é de longe a melhor maneira de alcançar o sucesso profissional, não há dúvidas sobre isso. Vale a pena se formar, mas isso nunca foi o suficiente. Aqueles que fazem apenas o básico vão ficar para trás, é necessário se especializar em algo, fazer uma pós-graduação e estudar qual área possui demanda. Pesquisar e se direcionar é apenas um dos aspectos necessários para as coisas irem bem.
Não é fácil, estudar por um longo período exige dedicação e investimento de tempo e financeiro. Apesar de, no momento, eu ter optado por outros caminhos, minha principal luta no momento é ajudar meu filho na educação para que, posteriormente, ele faça o vestibular e estude em uma boa faculdade. Tive uma conversa séria com ele esses dias, uma conversa que deve ter sido bem chata para ele, mas foi exatamente sobre como a educação é importante, e que se sacrificar por alguns anos vale a pena para colher bons frutos no futuro.
Nessa conversa eu mencionei que faltava poucos anos para ele terminar o ensino fundamental e médio e que ele já deveria começar a se preparar para a vida. Talvez uma conversa um pouco cedo demais, visto que ele tem apenas 13 anos? Não, já é importante moldar a mentalidade dele para o que está por vir e como ele deve se preparar para o futuro desde agora. E nessa conversa, eu mencionei que ele poderia apenas encerrar ali a sua jornada educacional e trabalhar por 40 anos em um emprego ruim, ganhar mal e sofrer pela vida toda, ou poderia se esforçar por alguns cinco ou seis anos e ter maiores chances de se estabelecer profissionalmente em um bom emprego.
A questão é sobre pensar no agora como um presente, uma oportunidade para colher frutos. Eu perguntei a ele se alguém colhe frutos antes de plantar uma árvore. Então se formar é sobre isso, não existem garantias, mas se você não cavar um buraco no chão, colocar uma semente e regar e adubar ela todos os dias, a árvore nunca sairá dali e, mesmo que saia, nada garante que dará frutos. Mas qual seria a probabilidade de frutos serem gerados se nada disso fosse feito? Nenhuma. Então essa foi uma analogia que ficou de fácil compreensão para ele e retrata bem o que estudar significa.

Mas tudo depende de nós, é necessário sair da caixa, ser melhor a cada dia, buscar as oportunidades e não esperar que elas caiam do céu. Estudar é o caminho, mesmo que não seja propriamente em uma faculdade, o conhecimento é a melhor arma daqueles que buscam conquistar seus objetivos.
