It had been a while since I last went out with my friends. Life had been busy for all of us school, family stuff and we just didn’t have the time to meet. We used to hang out often, but as we grew older, things changed. So when we finally found a day where everyone was free, we quickly made plans to go out, eat, and catch up. It was something we all needed.

We met up at a small but cozy place we hadn’t been to before. It wasn’t fancy, but it had a nice vibe, and we liked how quiet it was. It was perfect for talking and relaxing. As soon as we sat down, we started talking non-stop. It felt like the words just kept pouring out. We laughed at old memories, shared stories about the things that had happened in our lives recently, and talked about everything from silly things to serious stuff. It was nice to finally hear each other’s voices again, not just through chats or calls, but in person.

We were all hungry, so we ordered some food. First, we got a big plate of nachos. It was cheesy, crispy, and topped with ground meat and sauce. We all reached for it as we talked, sometimes fighting over the bigger pieces like we used to. Then we each ordered rice in a bowl it came with meat and some fries on top. It was simple but tasty, and the fries added a fun twist. For drinks, we had lemonade, which was cold and refreshing. The sour and sweet flavor was just right, and it helped cool us down from all the laughing and talking.

As we ate, we didn’t stop talking. We shared what we’ve been doing lately. Some of us were busy with school, some were working, and some were just figuring life out. One of my friends talked about her job and how stressful it had been. Another shared her excitement about a hobby she recently got into. I told them about my own ups and downs too. It felt good to listen, be heard, and just be real with each other. No filters, no pressure just us, being ourselves.
Time passed quickly. We didn’t even notice how long we had been sitting there. We weren’t in a rush. It was one of those moments where everything felt calm and right. The food was good, the conversation was even better, and the company was the best. We took some photos, made some jokes, and even planned another meet-up soon. It reminded us of how important friendship really is. Even if we don’t see each other often, the bond we share stays strong.
Before we knew it, the sun was already setting. We didn’t want to leave yet, but we knew we had to go. We walked out of the place with full stomachs and fuller hearts. There was something so special about that day. It wasn’t about doing something grand or going somewhere far. It was just about being together again, enjoying good food, and catching up on life.
I went home that day feeling happy and light. Sometimes, all you need is a simple meal with friends and a good conversation to make you feel alive again. I hope we get to do it again soon
