After such a long time apart, our trio finally got to hang out again. This was part two of our long-awaited catch-up, and it felt just as special as the first. Life had kept us all busy school, personal things, and the distance but moments like this reminded us how strong our bond is. We started our day by meeting up at Cindy’s house. It was a place full of memories from our younger years, and just being there again made us feel at home. Her room still had the same soft pillows, small cute decorations, and old pictures stuck on the wall. The moment we all sat down, it was like no time had passed at all.

We chilled for a while, talked about everything we could think of. School life came up first, and we shared our struggles, funny teachers, and the pressure of deadlines. Then, as always, we ended up laughing about the weirdest things old inside jokes, past crushes, and even embarrassing moments we had all experienced together. Of course, we couldn’t miss taking pictures. We posed with peace signs, silly faces, and tried to get that perfect trio selfie. Our laughter filled the room, and even though the world outside kept moving fast, we felt like time slowed down for us.

After spending a few hours at Cindy’s house, we decided to go out and enjoy the evening breeze. We headed to the plaza, which was already starting to fill up with people. The sun had just started to set, and the sky turned a soft orange. The air was cool and refreshing, and everything around us felt peaceful. We went straight to our favorite ice cream stand, and each of us picked our usual flavors. I got cookies and cream, Cindy went for chocolate, and our other friend chose mango. We sat on one of the benches nearby, enjoying every bite of our cold treats while talking about anything and everything.

Then something unexpected happened. While we were busy chatting, music started playing in the distance. At first, we didn’t pay much attention, but then we noticed a parade coming down the road. It was a celebration for the church, and it looked so festive. The street lit up with energy. There were kids dancing in their colorful outfits, people waving flags and carrying banners, and others playing drums and singing. Some were even handing out small flyers and candles. We didn’t know it was going to happen, but we were glad we got to witness it.
The colors, the smiles, and the spirit of the crowd made everything feel alive. We walked closer to the edge of the crowd and watched with interest, taking short videos and clapping along with the beat.Though we weren’t part of the event, it felt like we were included in the joy. After the parade passed, we walked around a little more before finding a quiet spot in the plaza. There was a low wall where we sat together, watching people walk by, holding hands, taking pictures, and enjoying their own evening moments.
There was nothing grand or loud in that part of the night. We just sat there, side by side, sharing stories and catching up on things we didn’t get to say during video calls or texts. It was peaceful, the kind of peace you feel only when you're with people who make you feel safe and understood. The cool wind brushed past us, and the plaza lights glowed warmly. We didn’t need a fancy dinner or big plan. Just sitting there, talking and laughing with my two closest friends, made me feel full and happy.

We stayed in that spot for maybe an hour or more, losing track of time. We shared updates about life, personal thoughts, goals, and random things we missed talking about. We teased each other, gave advice, and even had a few quiet moments just watching the stars slowly appear above us. At some point, none of us even touched our phones anymore. It felt nice to disconnect from everything else and just be present with each other.
Eventually, it got a bit late, and we knew we had to go home soon. But none of us really wanted to end the night. We walked slowly back to Cindy’s place, still chatting and joking around. Before saying goodbye, we promised to do this more often. It might not be easy because of our busy schedules and different locations, but moments like this reminded us that no matter how far we are or how long it takes, our trio will always find its way back together.
That night left me feeling warm inside. It wasn't about going somewhere fancy or doing something big. It was about connection, friendship, and making memories in the small, simple moments. I realized that no matter how long we go without seeing each other, when we do, it always feels like home
