Feel Good | Rescue & Release | Phone Photography-74

I am participating in this weekly episode after a break owing to the very tight schedule in contemporary life. In the meantime, almost every week, highly poisonous snakes appear in our house(in my village). Literally, it is scary for us. This week, I was compelled to order snake repellent spray.   My father is an expert in catching small to medium-sized cobra snakes. But there is no scope to remain complacent, because just one inadvertent mistake could really land us in trouble, particularly at night. I am sharing a few shots of these snakes that were rescued from my house in recent times.   It genuinely feels good to rescue and release these snakes, and really a sense of satisfaction when you dont kill them, but rather rescue and release them into the wild to a safe place, but you dont know when an incident could occur when you live around many such poisonous small offspring.    We have tidied up our garden for that reason. We are also trying to keep our garden clean and free from invasive weeds and unwanted plants, and to ensure that we have sufficient visibility so that we can spot them quickly when they appear. But I know these measures are not enough.    Every year in the rainy season around this time, they appear, and this is actually the time when small cobras show up in our house. This is really scary and dangerous. We have to have some robust preventive measures in place so that they dont even break into our premises.   In my neighbourhood and mostly in our villages, many such snakes get killed if they appear.........but that is not the case with us....we understand their presence and importance in this ecosystem, but we have to ensure our safety at the same time, and this time I am abit serious to do something so that they dont appear again in our house.
