Mi experiencia en La Colonia Tovar 🏘️// My experience in Colonia Tovar 🏘️

Llevo varios meses queriendo ir a la Colonia Tovar y por fin tuve la oportunidad de visitarla... Hace mucho había ido pero la verdad estaba muy niña y no recordaba nada y de la noche a la mañana empezó a ponerse de moda ir ya que para los que vivimos en Caracas y para los que viven en Maracay se les resulta mas fácil llegar en transporte público así que me dió fomo que todo el mundo fuera menos yo. 🤭 La Colonia Tovar es una pequeña colonia de alemanes que llegaron a Venezuela en los años 1800 aproximadamente y luego de caminar bastante para buscar el lugar correcto que tuviera un clima que no fuera muy diferente al de Alemania (muy frío) llegaron al estado Aragua y desde ese entonces se establecieron allí y formaron este pedazo increíble de Alemania en Venezuela. ✨ Nuestra travesía empezó desde muy temprano ya que teníamos que irnos en transporte público desde caracas hasta la Colonia Tovar, primero agarramos un autobús desde mi casa hasta Plaza Venezuela, de allí otro autobús hasta La Yaguara, desde allí agarramos uno para el pueblo del Junquito, un pueblito muy lindo también con un clima delicioso pero que esta vez no era nuestro destino pero, espero volver de nuevo muy pronto. Ese fue uno de los pasajes un poco más costoso en comparación a la ruta urbana del inicio ya que tenía un costo aproximadamente de 1.5$. Una vez en el Junquito era hora de agarrar (al fin) el autobús que nos llevaría hasta nuestro destino, ese tenía un costo de 2$ y el recorrido es de aproximadamente una hora.

I had been wanting to go to Colonia Tovar for several months and finally had the opportunity to visit it... I had been there a long time ago, but I was very young and didn't remember anything. Overnight, it became fashionable to go there, since it's easier for those of us who live in Caracas and Maracay to get there by public transportation, so I was jealous that everyone was going except me. 🤭 Colonia Tovar is a small colony of Germans who arrived in Venezuela in the 1800s. After walking a long way to find the right place with a climate that wasn't too different from Germany (very cold), they arrived in the state of Aragua and settled there, forming this incredible piece of Germany in Venezuela. ✨ Our journey began very early since we had to take public transportation from Caracas to Colonia Tovar. First, we took a bus from my house to Plaza Venezuela, then another bus to La Yaguara, and from there we took one to the town of Junquito, a very pretty little town with a delightful climate, but this time it wasn't our destination. However, I hope to return again very soon. That was one of the more expensive legs of the trip compared to the urban route at the beginning, as it cost approximately $1.50. Once in Junquito, it was time to (finally) catch the bus that would take us to our destination. The fare was $2, and the trip took about an hour.

Después de un camino lleno de neblina, montañas , bonitos paisajes y mucho frío al fin estábamos en La colonia Tovar ✨, a penas entras ves el cambio tan diferente en cultura y arquitectura, las casas son con diseños alemanes y por todos lados los negocios tienen nombre con referencia alemana, ya sea su apellido, una frase, un nombre, es como si de verdad hubieses ido a europa por un momento. Cómo llegamos a las 12:30 pm decidimos buscar primero un lugar donde comer para luego decidir a qué sitios ir a visitar. Cómo en todas las ciudades y pueblos hay ciertos lugares específicos que brinda el sitio para visitar y hacer turismo, y la colonia Tovar es grande así que había que buscar como moverse dentro de ese lugar. Antes de ver cuáles iban a ser nuestros destinos era hora de comer ya que habíamos encontrado en lugar perfecto, yo decidí comerme una cachapa súper gigante 😂 ya que desde hace tiempo venía con antojo de una y que mejor que comerla en un pueblito tan mágico como ese, otros pidieron unas hamburguesas que realmente estaban enormes jaja pero teníamos bastante hambre si que fue perfecto todo.😌 Una vez comidos ya era hora de buscar a que lugares iríamos y quien nos llevaría, en la Colonia hay muchos paquetes de tour donde te dan una lista de lugares y dependiendo el precio tu decides si ir para cuatro sitios, seis o más y claro ellos colocan el Jeep que te llevara y también depende del número de personas que sean, en mi caso éramos siete así que nos dieron uno grande para poder entrar todos. Decidimos ir a cuatro sitios chocolatico, una casa de vino artesanal para degustación, un lugar llamado "Mi kabrita" y a la casita del árbol 🌲, además el tour venía con un chocolate caliente o fresas con crema de obsequio. ✨ Nuestra primera parada fue Chocolatico, un lugar de chocolate artesanal donde te dan una charla del origen del chocolate tanto oscuro como blanco y de sus beneficios. Dato curioso, es recomendable comerse un trozo pequeño de chocolate amargo diario ya que ayuda a liberar la hormona de la felicidad y mantenerte con buen animo todo el día, además de con más entusiasmo en tus actividades, toda esa buena actitud trae beneficios a largo plazo. Nos regalaron dos chocolatitos por responder una pregunta correctamente, nos dieron a probar su Nutella artesanal que sinceramente es una delicia y, por supuesto, compramos bastantes chocolates de figuras diferentes. 😂

After a journey filled with fog, mountains, beautiful landscapes, and extreme cold, we finally arrived at La Colonia Tovar. As soon as you enter, you notice the significant change in culture and architecture. The houses are designed in a German style, and everywhere you look, businesses have names with German references, whether it be a surname, a phrase, or a name. It's as if you've truly traveled to Europe for a moment. Since we arrived at 12:30 pm, we decided to first find a place to eat and then decide where to visit. As in all cities and towns, there are certain specific places to visit and sightsee, and Colonia Tovar is large, so we had to figure out how to get around. Before deciding on our destinations, it was time to eat, as we had found the perfect place. I decided to eat a super giant cachapa 😂 because I had been craving one for a long time, and what better place to eat it than in such a magical little town? Others ordered hamburgers that were really huge haha, but we were quite hungry, so everything was perfect.😌 Once we had eaten, it was time to decide where we would go and who would take us there. In Colonia, there are many tour packages where they give you a list of places, and depending on the price, you decide whether to go to four, six, or more places. Of course, they provide the Jeep that will take you there, and it also depends on the number of people in your group. In my case, there were seven of us, so they gave us a large one so that we could all fit in. We decided to go to four places: Chocolatico, an artisan wine house for tasting, a place called “Mi kabrita,” and the tree house 🌲. The tour also included a complimentary hot chocolate or strawberries with cream. ✨ Our first stop was Chocolatico, an artisan chocolate shop where they give you a talk about the origin of both dark and white chocolate and its benefits. Fun fact: it is recommended to eat a small piece of dark chocolate every day as it helps release the happiness hormone and keeps you in a good mood all day, as well as making you more enthusiastic about your activities. All that positivity brings long-term benefits. They gave us two chocolates for answering a question correctly, let us try their artisanal Nutella, which is honestly delicious, and, of course, we bought quite a few chocolates in different shapes. 😂

Segunda parada, la casa artesanal de vino que sinceramente no recuerdo cómo se llamaba pero en la colonia hay varias cada una con un toque diferente y único claro está. Esta era la casa de una hermosa familia que tienen su cata de vinos, nos dieron a probar cuatro tipos distintos , licor seco de mora (mi favorito), licor dulce de uchuwa (no fue mi favorito 😂), licor dulce de mora, y licor de parchita (otro favorito 🤤), la verdad estaban deliciosos y perfectos para paladares exigentes. Después nos invitaron a pasar a su jardín donde nos tomamos fotos con todo ya que realmente lo tienen hermoso. 😍 Tercera parada Mi Kabrita, por si el nombre no les da una pista es un lugar donde venden productos hechos de leche de cabra y nos dan degustación de quesos, particularmente no soy fan de los productos de cabra pero debo admitir que el queso realmente estaba bueno, nos dieron dos tipos un queso duro normal y uno ahumado, además cuántas con variedad de productos como dulce de leche que lo venden con obleas. Pero la verdad atracción de este lugar son las cabritas ya que puedes alimentarlas con un biberón, jugar con ellas y hacerles cariño. Son muy revoltosas jaja y se vuelven locas cuando ven el biberón pero de verdad que experiencia más linda.

Second stop, the artisanal wine house, which I honestly don't remember the name of, but there are several in the neighborhood, each with its own unique touch, of course. This was the home of a lovely family who offer wine tastings. They gave us four different types to try: dry blackberry liqueur (my favorite), sweet uchuwa liqueur (not my favorite 😂), sweet blackberry liqueur, and passion fruit liqueur (another favorite 🤤). They were truly delicious and perfect for discerning palates. Afterwards, they invited us into their garden where we took pictures with everything because it is really beautiful. 😍 Third stop: Mi Kabrita. In case the name doesn't give you a clue, it's a place where they sell products made from goat's milk and give us cheese tastings. I'm not particularly a fan of goat products, but I must admit that the cheese was really good. They gave us two types, a normal hard cheese and a smoked one, as well as a variety of products such as dulce de leche, which they sell with wafers. But the real attraction of this place is the goats, as you can feed them with a bottle, play with them, and pet them. They are very lively, haha, and go crazy when they see the bottle, but it really is such a lovely experience.

Cómo última parada dejamos La casita del árbol, creo que es el lugar más famoso de allí ya que lit es una casa del árbol con una vista bellísima del lugar y además ¿Quien no soño con una casita del árbol cuando era niño? Realmente es como un sueño hecho realidad 🤩, ese lugar es el único que tenía un costo adicional de 2$ por persona pero la experiencia lo vale. Para entrar a la casita tienes que pasar por un puente colgante de madera que si le tienes miedo a las alturas no es muy recomendable para tu jaja, después de cruzar ese puente ya estás en la casita. Corrimos con suerte de que estaba sola para nosotros así que la experiencia fue más bonita y amena. ✨ Después de 20 minutos allí era hora de irnos. El pueblo cuenta con una iglesia que hicieron los alemanes cuando llegaron además de tener su propio santo y nosotros no podíamos irnos de allí sin visitar su plaza bolivar y su iglesia jaja, eso no estaba en el tour pero el muchacho que nos llevó nos regaló cinco minutos allí. ❤️ Al final nos dieron nuestras fresas con crema y nos dejaron justo en el lugar donde teníamos que agarrar el autobús para irnos y empezar todo el recorrido que hicimos para llegar 🥴, pero realmente fue un día increíble nos tenemos yendo como a las 5:30 pm muy contentos por la experiencia y por la gente tan increíble que uno se encuentra en el camino. ✨ Gracias por leer mi post, nos vemos en el siguiente bye gente linda. ❤️

Our last stop was La casita del árbol (The Tree House), which I think is the most famous place there, as it is a tree house with a beautiful view of the area. Besides, who didn't dream of having a tree house when they were a child? It really is like a dream come true 🤩. This was the only place that had an additional cost of $2 per person, but the experience was worth it. To enter the tree house, you have to cross a wooden suspension bridge, which is not recommended if you are afraid of heights, haha. After crossing the bridge, you are at the tree house. We were lucky that we had it all to ourselves, so the experience was even more beautiful and enjoyable. ✨ After 20 minutes there, it was time to leave. The village has a church that the Germans built when they arrived, as well as its own saint, and we couldn't leave without visiting its Bolivar square and church, haha. That wasn't part of the tour, but the guy who took us there gave us five minutes there. ❤️ In the end, they gave us our strawberries and cream and dropped us off right where we had to catch the bus to leave and start the whole journey we had taken to get there 🥴, but it really was an incredible day.
