Firstly I washed my native cocoyam throughly (Ede ofe) in our local dialect and then put it in my native pot and starts cooking it,I used my native pot to cook my cocoyam because it take a lot of time to be cooked.and after cooking for a while,my Cocoyam was soft and ready to pound.

Then I removed the back of my cocoyam and starts putting it one after the other inside my mortar and I added a little oil inside my cocoyam started pounding it untill it was properly pounded and I added that oil because it will help my cocoyam to dissolve very well when I put it in my cooking pot.and then added a little water for cooking.
