Unexpected Blessing

Today, something exceptional happened. Actually, it took place two days ago, but I was indifferent, didn't notice. Like when I got to know about it today, I was perplexed for a moment, and wasn't able to digest it. Amidst the world of despair, it's something positive from the Almighty Allah that makes me feel like he is there to help me, and always will.

So the thing is. Today, suddenly, I saw a notification on my phone, it's in the group of our team. I was selected as the best performer for Q3 this year. Actually, Q1, Q2, and Q3 were announced altogether, so three of us. As this gets announced after such a long time so I forgot about it, nor had any expectations. But, seeing the announcement, I was delighted and happy as there remain some bonuses as well.

The other two knocked me as they too discovered the other winners. The mails were sent to the winners two days back, but I didn't notice, not even after the announcement, until another winner sensed me and asked if I got the mail or not. I was like, “What mail? Lemme check.” And after checking on the mail, I was stunned, seeing at the bonus. Damn! It was more than my expectations, I didn't know that they got such an amount for performing best. If I had known, I would have put in more effort than I had invested without knowing. Alhamdulillah for everything, all praises to the Almighty.

This practice is really awesome. I believe, the immense stress I had to go through, rewarding them like this is truly something outstanding, these will boost the work culture and inspire us more and more to put in more effort. Like, as I won the Q3, now I will be more serious about my work, be more professional, and more effective with the things I will be working on. Gotta put in my best to secure the Q4 as well.

Actually, you know what, last time when this was announced, almost nine months back, I was an intern, just saw them winning, the Q2 winner won that time as well. Since that, I saw him working with responsibility, with much more professionalism, with more effort. Even my senior, who left a few days ago, too, won the previous time; he was very dedicated to his work as well. Today, I can sense that the motivation, the driving force to be a better version, comes from these tiny recognitions that make you feel valued, make you feel special, make you feel like the authority acknowledges your performances, and these don't go unnoticed.

So yeah, this kinda practice is very healthy, keeps the work culture motivated, and everyone tries to put in their best efforts to set some marks, to be the one to outperform everyone via work.
