Hey guys,
It's been quite a lot since I wrote a post in the community and because my heart is wondering far far away from home, somewhere hiking, a lake or a mountain view ๐, I remembered I have these photos taken last year in September when I visited Lake Scropoasa, in Bucegi Mountains, here in my beautiful Romania. ๐
Just to be clear, Lake Scropoasa is an amazingly nature place, you just need good weather, a bright sun and no clouds at all. Unfortunately we didnt get any of these LOL ๐คฃ๐คฃ.
Here's a comparison of how the lake looked like when I visited and how gorgeous it is when there are no clouds.

Bright sunny day: Source | Photo taken by me in a cloudy day |
I don't need to say that even though the view wasnt as I expected, this day was simply amazing. The most important part was that we had a lot of fun during our walk. We were three couples, @triplug and his wife, @pink.wizz and her fiance. It's those moments of shared laughter and adventure that stick with us and make life so special. It's great to have a circle of friends who can turn any day into a memorable one.
In order to get here, we needed to do an easy hike, walking trough the Cheile Zanoagei, beautiful and easy mountain trail. (I will write another post for this one) ๐
We hiked about 2 hours, with taking photos included. It's really a beautiful trail. I think the whole trail is about 6 km round trip.
The trail is very well marked, you can't get lost.
Some geographical data about this lake
Lake Scropoasa is located in the Bucegi Mountains, in the valley of the Ialomita River. It is an artificial dam lake built in 1929 for hydropower purposes. The lake is located at an altitude of 1,197 m, maximum depth 15 m and occupies an area of 5.7 ha. Lacul Scropoasa este รฎn prezent utilizat ศi pentru agrement ศi este unul dintre cele mai importante obiective turistice din Muntenia. (Wikipedia source)
Bucegi Mountains are among the most famous mountain ranges in Romania, being of great structural and morphological complexity.
I wanted to come here since forever. WHY? Simple enough, More simple than this I can't write it.
Scropoasa Lake is a stunning natural wonder nestled in the Carpathian Mountains. ๐
Its calm waters, surrounded by green trees and tall mountains, create a beautiful sight that leaves visitors amazed. The lake's pure beauty and peaceful vibe make it a great spot for people who love nature and adventure. Whether you're walking by the lake, enjoying the reflections of the scenery, or just relaxing, Scropoasa Lake gives you a memorable experience.
I was in love with the place the moment I saw the first picture of this place. Here in Romania we have beautiful nature places and mountains.

We were very excited when we got here. We stayed for a couple of moments to enjoy the view and then headed back. If I had to say it, I think I enjoyed the walk to get here more than the lake intself. And now I remember that quote saying enjoyng the ride, not the destination only. This time, I think I enjoyed the road more haha. But to be honest, it happened to me a lot. When travel with friends and spending time together, is more about this than the place itself. At least this is how it is for me and my heart. Being together in these little adventures of ours is more precious to me. I am a social person, even though I don't have a lot of friends...but I give 100% all of me with my true relationships.
What about you? Do you prefer travel alone, with your partner or with friends too?

After passing through the natural keys, we arrived to a crossroads, from where you turn left towards the waterfall and ahead towards the lake.
Here you will find also a caravan that serves food and they has terrace where you could serve the meal.

What WaterFall you ask?
Waterfall 7 Izvoare
We took a left turn, crossed a bridge, and strolled along a forest path for around 10 minutes until we arrived at Cascada 7 Izvoare.
The waterfall is incredibly beautiful, with multiple cascades formed by springs that flow through lush greenery, filling the air with a refreshing, ionized breeze.
It's said that the water at Cascada 7 Izvoare is among the purest in the world because it passes through a deposit of silver before reaching the surface, which helps purify it to a high degree.

In conclusion, the lake captivates with its vibrant green-turquoise hue under the sun's rays.Too bad we didnt really saw those. Also, within the forest, there are two spots where you can get to the lake's shore, making it an ideal spot for picnics during the summer months while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
I would say that, despite the trail being relatively easy, it's essential to have basic mountain gear. Ensuring you have appropriate footwear is crucial; traversing wet stones without proper boots or hiking shoes poses a risk.
Overall, the journey to Lake Scropoasa and the 7 Springs Waterfall is exceptionally scenic and beginner-friendly, making it an ideal adventure.
Stay safe,
