This day was special. Even though it’s rainy season, the sun showed up and gave us the perfect chance to enjoy a little getaway with the youth and kids from our church, we spent the day in a small pool—laughing, swimming, and sharing food together.
Since it’s rainy season, we didn’t expect the sun to come out, but we were lucky—it was bright and warm. Because of that, we decided to go to a small pool nearby and enjoy the rest of our Sunday.
The pool was not big or fancy, but it was more than enough for us. The moment we arrived, everyone was so excited. Some of the kids quickly jumped into the water, while the rest of us laughed and followed.
The sound of water splashing, the laughter of the youth, and the happy noise all around made the place feel so alive.
I honestly missed moments like this. It’s been a while since I last swam or even dived into a pool. At first, the water felt cold, but once you’re in, it actually felt nice and refreshing under the heat of the sun. It reminded me how fun it is to just let go, swim, and enjoy the moment without thinking too much.
Two kids from our church, Shiela and Roy, were the stars of the day. They were having the time of their lives in the pool—diving, laughing, splashing water everywhere.
Shiela couldn’t stop giggling every time she tried to swim, and Roy was so full of energy that he kept everyone entertained. Watching them made all of us smile. It showed me that happiness doesn’t need anything big—it can be as simple as water, sunshine, and good company.
By lunchtime, we all gathered by the side of the pool. Everyone brought food to share, so even though it was just simple dishes, it felt like a real feast.
There’s something about eating together while still wet from swimming that makes everything taste better. Maybe it was the laughter, or maybe it was just the feeling of being together, but it was one of the best lunches we’ve had.
The best part about the whole day is that it didn’t cost much. We didn’t go to an expensive resort or prepare anything fancy. Yet, the joy we felt was priceless. Seeing everyone happy, especially the youth and the kids, made me realize that the best memories often come from simple moments.
It wasn’t just about swimming or eating—it was about being together. It felt like real fellowship, like a family enjoying each other’s company. Sometimes life gets so busy and stressful, but days like this remind me that joy can be found in the little things.
As the day ended, I found myself hoping we could do this again. I hope there will be more Sundays like this—full of laughter, sunshine, and simple joys shared with the people we care about.
Sometimes, all we really need is a small pool, a sunny day, and the right people to make a weekend unforgettable. And this Sunday was proof of that. 💙
