We were supposed to have our coffee date next week. That was the plan. But after a long and draining day at work, my friends and I looked at each other and just knew—we couldn’t wait anymore. We needed a little escape. So instead of waiting for “next week,” we decided to go that same day.
The nearest spot was But First, Coffee, a small cozy café that felt like the right place for our mini break. I was with Ysa, Enzo, Ricky, and Maying.
The moment we walked in, the smell of coffee greeted us like a warm hug.
The place was buzzing but still calm in its own way. There were people with their laptops, clearly working or studying, and others just chilling with their drinks. It felt nice—like everyone had their own reason for being there, but somehow it all blended into one comforting atmosphere.
We lined up for our drinks, and of course, we all went for different ones. There was a caramel macchiato, a sea salt macchiato, and even a matcha. I love how drinks reflect moods—sweet, salty, strong. We also noticed the bread and pastries displayed on the counter, and wow, they all looked so good.
Soft breads, cheesy ones, and sweet pastries that made me think: Okay, next time, I’m definitely getting one of those.
But before anything else, we spotted a mirror by the entrance. And you already know what happened next—group selfies! We squeezed ourselves into the frame, laughed at how we looked, and kept snapping pictures until we finally got one that we all liked. Honestly, those silly photos made the night even more fun.
When we finally sat down with our drinks, the conversations flowed so easily. No work talk, no stress, just random stories, jokes, and laughter that felt so refreshing. It was like all the heaviness from the day just lifted. Every sip of coffee tasted better because of the company I had with me.
We stayed longer than we thought we would. None of us wanted to leave because it was one of those moments where you just feel good—no rush, no pressure, just being present with friends. For something so simple, it meant a lot.
Looking back, I’m really glad we didn’t wait for next week. Sometimes, the best memories come from unplanned moments. That coffee date gave us the pause we didn’t know we needed.
They also have games you can play, which makes the place even more solid. hehe. Even though we didn’t actually play, you can really see that this café is also a spot for fun and entertainment.
And it reminded me that you don’t always need a grand plan to feel happy sometimes, it’s just about being with the right people, sharing laughter, and holding a warm cup of coffee in your hand.
That afternoon may have started as just “coffee after work,” but it ended up being one of those simple but special moments that I’ll always treasure.
