Since school is about to start next week, I’d like to share what we did last week during our Brigada eskwela as an SSLG Officer (Supreme-Secondary Learner Government) from July 22-26, 2024!
DAY 1
On day 1, only grade 7 and 8 students were scheduled for the Brigada because they are the ones who seem to need assistance especially grade 7 since they just graduated from elementary school and they’re new here at our school.
There was a parade before the program for the opening of the brigada eskwela started. While the other SSLG officers joined the parade, me, ate Cha², ate Kate, and my classmate Ella stayed at the school because we were preparing our assistance booth and to assist the students and parents with their sections. (some of the students/parents came too early, that’s why we stayed at school to assist them and let them sit until they came back)
After the parade, they proceeded with the program since many students/parents arrived and it would be so crowded. I enjoyed the program because we performed a dance and while we were doing it we were not totally on time but I mean at least we tried right? 😅
After the program, we directly go to the assigned area where we started helping all the people with their brigada, it was a very tiring day since there were a lot of people, like lots and lots of people it was very nice to help and worth it!
There weren’t a lot of students in the afternoon, so we decided to go back to the office and start preparing some things that we needed to do for the opening of class on July 29, 2024. While the others were making the banderitas and stuff, I was editing of the tarpapel of “Welcome Back To School”, and I am using Canva. It was really fun spending the day with the new officers and I’m so happy that we quickly became close and we were just joking and laughing the entire time.
At the end of the day, we are all very exhausted and excited to go home but at the same time we are very proud of ourselves that we were able to pull through the day and for topping it up with the most successful event of the day!! Kudos to us SSLG Officers 💪🏻💗
DAY 2
On day 2, grade 9 students were scheduled for Brigada and we did the same thing as yesterday. In the morning, we assist the students in which section and where their room is. The other officers were ordered to take pictures just for documentation.
(It’s me and ate cha² in the picture, she’s our secretary and I’m her assistant secretary.)
Then in the afternoon, we immediately finished making the banderitas because we needed to make a lot of decorations at the entrance gate for the opening of the class this July 19. Nothing fun happened today because we were more focused on making the decorations because we were running out of time and we still had a lot of other things to do. Though, I enjoyed today and hope that our hard work is worth it and hopefully, it will be successful as well.
