Aonishiki, a sumo wrestler from Ukraine

The Autumn Basho (September tournament) has become very popular. Aonishiki has climbed to the rank of komusubi, one of the three titled ranks, at record speed. Since the six-tournament system began—six tournaments held each year—this is said to be the fastest promotion ever. He is also the first komusubi from Ukraine, and I’m truly excited to see how he will continue to grow.

On the opening day, he lost to a yokozuna Ohnosato, but on the second day he faced Atamifuji, who has a significant size advantage. I was thrilled to watch, wondering what kind of bout it would turn out to be. He tried several uchimusō techniques on his opponent, but they didn’t quite succeed, and I watched with sweaty palms, eager to see how the match would unfold! Go, Aonishiki!

秋場所（９月場所）がとても人気が出ている。　安青錦（あおにしき）が最速で三役である小結まで昇りつめた。　１年に６場所行われる、６場所制度が始まってから最速の昇進らしい。　ウクライナ出身の小結は初めてらしく、今後の成長が本当に楽しみです。　初日は横綱に負けてしまいましたが、２日目は体格差のある熱海富士（あたみふじ）との対戦。　どの様な対戦になるたワクワクしながら見ておりました。　内無双（うちむそう）を何度か相手にかけますが、決まらずどの様な展開になるか手に汗を握りながら観戦しました！　がんばれ、安青錦！
