Grateful to God for another year of life and blessings 😇

Today is my son's 9th birthday. Haist! How time flies so fast. Yesterday, I remember he was just a tiny baby in our arms, and now he's almost a grown man.

He was a C-section baby because there were three umbilical cords wrapped around his neck. The doctors decided a C-section was necessary because I couldn’t push him out safely. It was a difficult time, but the moment I heard his first cry, all the worries melted away. Even though his birth was a bit more complicated, I’m so thankful he’s healthy and strong today.

Last night, he waited until 12 AM on December 7 because he really wanted to be awake at the start of his birthday. After we greeted him, he went to sleep.

When he woke up, he had a mild fever and a headache. He was so disappointed and kept asking why he was sick on his birthday. We had plans to go to church, then eat pizza and play at the arcade with his cousins. I was thinking about canceling the plans since he wasn't feeling well, but he insisted, saying that tomorrow wouldn’t be his birthday anymore.

We decided not to throw a party this year. For several years, we’ve had a small party (except for last year), but with how expensive everything is right now, my husband and I thought it would be better to buy something special for our son or save the money. I think many people would agree with this decision. Throwing a party is nice, but after the event, you’re left with the reality of how much you spent and the tiredness from cleaning up. Of course, your child is happy, but since he’s now 9 years old, we decided to spend quality time together instead of having a big party.

Even though he had a mild fever and headache, we went to church to pray. It was good timing because we said the Padre Pio healing prayer, and my son read the prayer. After praying, we lit some candles as well. I’m not sure if you do this too, but we are used to lighting candles as part of thanking the Lord.

We then went to one of the malls here for bumper cars. I brought 2 of my son's cousins, as per his request. They went to play bumper cars, and even though my son wasn’t feeling well, it seemed like he enjoyed it a bit.

After they played, we went to Greenwich to eat pizza, but unfortunately, they didn’t have any pizza! They said it was out of stock temporarily, so we decided to go to a seafood restaurant instead. We were supposed to eat pizza and then go to other arcades, but my son wasn’t really in the mood for arcade games. He looked sick and tired, so we decided to just eat and go home afterwards.

We went to Arnel's, one of the famous seafood restaurants here. We ordered talaba, baked talaba, buttered shrimp, inasal, pusit, grilled liempo, and two platters of rice. The food was good, and we enjoyed eating. It’s just that my son only ate a little. He said his head was really aching, so it seemed like a very unfortunate situation.

Just sharing some pics of my son. Look how cute he was when he was younger—so playful and funny. I remember this picture when we bought bihon for breakfast. I went to the kitchen, and when I came back, this was the scene. That's why he was so quiet!

I just love to reminisce about how cute and adorable he was, and I'm proud that I was hands-on with him when he was a baby. I took care of everything. I really wish that he grows up with the fear of God and becomes a responsible person.

Just sharing a few pictures of his birthdays since he was 1 year old. Lol! I just wanted to have something to look back on here in Hive as well. Thanks for stopping by, and have a nice day ahead!
