For a brief moment in time, perhaps 30 seconds or so, this butterfly chose to cling to this leaf on a hot day. Typically I find that when the sun is out and it's a hot day, they won't really linger for very long in any one spot, so I was lucky to catch this brief stop and get a few close-ups with my macro lens. As I moved closer since macros do not zoom, I hoped this little creature would linger just long enough to let me get a bit more detail. I would have liked to have more time, but from experience I know sometimes you have to take what you can get.
