They call this flower the Black-Eyed Susan. I had never heard of this name, although I have seen these flowers in different gardens around Calgary over the years. They will usually grow to between 1 and 3 feet tall with leaves around 6 inches long. They tend to attract quite a few insects for their nectar, and as they move pollen from one to another, it will cause more seeds to grow, which can move easily in the wind. I enjoy the look and structure of these flowers; the little points at the top look quite neat in macro, especially where shallow depth of field is concerned.
