Soaring high in the sky, I saw this Swainson's hawk. It can be identified by its pointy wings, and it is also one of the more widely seen birds of prey in my area. It is very skilled at soaring and coasting, staying up in the sky longer than I am able to keep track of it. Watching it coast along is something that immediately takes me away to someplace calm, with no other thoughts but watching this bird and trying to imagine what it's like to be up so high.
