My first impressions of Renoir's home

This week I am in the south of France near Nice. Having had such a long break from blogging (almost a year) I'm not sure what to do?
It's almost as if I have forgotten how to write? I'm sure anyone would feel the same thing after an extended break?

So let's start with the subject of this video.

Pierre Auguste Renoir

Renoir's home tour

https://youtu.be/gtrHvPY8u_M?si=BSdsxfSlX3splb18 There have been millions of words and books written about this famous French impressionist artist and I decided to take a leaf out of his book and just give an impression of his home life. This film is about where he lived and what inspired him to create works of art that have stood the test of time. Photography owes a lot to the impressionists as they introduced the concept of soft focus and colour saturation amongst other things. Renoir knew that artists would have to adapt to the threat of photography especially in the world of portraits, nudes and landscape work. In the face of this technological revolution his solution along with other impressionists was to create an art form that photography could not replicate. They succeeded in spite of early criticism. We see a similar situation today with the rise of A.I. art flooding the online world. Will humanity come up with a new way to distinguish themselves from machines? Time will tell. It seems that many people have difficulty telling the difference between AI art and human creations already. Renoir's home and gardens inspired me to make this film as much as it inspired him. However finding the entrance was a bit of a mission on it's own. It's not exactly where Google maps has it so I've updated @worldmappin to show the true location.

I don't consider 'shorts' a legitimate way to spend my time even though I have had some viral success they do not attract the right audience for my content. It was an absolute pleasure to make this video. Sometimes going back to basics is the best thing to do. Gonzo film making is always great fun. Having no internet has been a issue for the last few weeks but it does focus the mind and reminds me of my very earliest blogging experiences. We had to make do with what we had. There wasn't any other options at that time so we didn't even think about it. My issue was with my phone service provider's roaming setup. It just doesn't work. There's an opportunity for us to try figure out a way to connect globally without using the current system. Food for thought. Web3 telephony? Any suggestions let me know in the comments. I've been looking for a project to do. One of the benefits of our #web3 system is that we can usually carry on creating even when the rest of the internet falls over like it did last week apparently? (according to legacy media) In our own way we merry group in #web3 are doing what the impressionists did when faced with an existential threat (photography) we adapted and we survived. Time to develop our own telephony system. The Renoir Museum is in Cagnes-sur-Mer in the Alpes-Maritimes close to Nice. He lived and worked here from 1907 to 1919. Filmed and edited on an iPhone 8 plus. If anyone reads this far. Thank you for your support and share it on your social media. I'm back on the road next week heading for Tuscany. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ [//]:# (!worldmappin 43.66778 lat 7.15711 long d3scr)
