Hello Hive
We are so lucky to have a tree that produces this much fruits every where. The quantity of oranges here are quite much and this is just how much oranges we get from this tree yearly. Everywhere on the tree is completely covered in fruits. You don't have to climb the tree to pluck oranges and the tree isn't too tall and with just a lift of hand you can pluck some fruits, haha.
One of the reasons I have always clamoured for planting quality seeds is this. I don't know about how long this tree has been existing in the compound here but I have tried to replant it's seeds in another location. It's a quality specie of orange that produced it's fruits in due season and you can see the quantity of oranges we have here.
Above is another orange tree gradually growing up of which I am not certain about how long it will take before it begins to fruit.
Yearly we get to have as much oranges as this from a singular tree. What if we have about 3-5 of this sort of tree here, it will give us the exact amounts of oranges needed to last the year.
Ripening doesn't happen at once hence harvest won't happen at once either. All the fruits doesn't produce at once, this makes it easy to access some fruits for a length of about 2-3months. While we pluck the riped ones out, others get ripen along side and this smaller ones continue to grow bigger go maturity.
People often believe that growing fruits doesn't often amount to much money as these fruits produce only once in a year.
This is not the case this time around, a single orange cost about $0.1 and harvesting all the fruits on this tree this year can amount to about $1-2k, now imagine if you have about 2-4 of this kind of trees. This will produce more profits than growing staple crops for sale.
Been someone who is passionate about farming and commercial farming I am trying to compare and contrast the beat type of crops that will be suitable both in terms of high yield and resource generation.
Oranges have high market value compared to other fruits and it's easy to sell off the fruits as well. Growing this doesn't cost much as the only challenges will be in the first year of planting. Once the tree wis establish almost nothing is spent for maintaining this yearly while it goes on producing fruits consistently.
