Hello Hive
Good day my fellow designers and creative minds. I hope our day is coming on well.
Let's talk about the categories of designer we have
It is obvious that we have different categories of fashion designers and by the time I am through with this post you should be able to select the category you belong to
- Designers who don't repeat any outfits
These category of designers always want to appear different and unique at all times, they don't repeat clothes. Once they design a certain clothes and wear the outfit once, it's either they gift it out or sell them off, you will never see them wearing thesame clothes twice. They are very active, creative and always sewing new designs of clothes for themselves. You can find these categories among if top fashion lovers who are wealthy enough and have the resources to sponsor new clothes for themselves everyday.
These designers may equally have worker and apprentice who assist them with sewing and working out the outfit as it is not often easy to sew new clothes everyday without assistance.
- Designers who never sew for themselves.
These categories are passionate about making money. They get really busy sewing to make more money they hardly wear new clothes and are often soaked in sewing for others. Each time there is a need for an outting it rush to make simple wears for themselves and people tend to wonder why a designer will not go extra mile to sew something extravagant for themselves.
We certainly do have more categories and you can write about yours in the comment section. For me I love to see for myself when there is a materials. Sometimes having some fabrics is what gives me the inspiration to sew, fabrics are my weak spots, I wish fo learn more about fashion on a daily basis and will often hand around fashion reels to see which new knowledge there is to pick.
There is a need to wear something different today for midweek service and I love to prepare ahead of time, before the evening comes. After searching all my closet I found this left over fabric I have used for Anastasia dress.
I had wanted to sew a top with this but it won't be enough even after trying several manipulations to make it work. I resorted to sewing a simple skirt. Cutting the front and back block here
First I joined the side seams of the skirt with 2"
I got a white elastic band to sew unto the dress and measured out about 0.5" into the skirt, placed the elastic band on it and joined the stitches.
That was done and this happens to be the simplest pencil skirt we can ever sew for ourselves
It has no zipper as the fabric is an elastic one.
An elastic band was used on the waist to allow for some stretching when been worn. I got a black blouse to go with this and the evening is set.
While sewing the skirt I had thought about the categories of designer we have and this made me laugh at myself
