Hello Hive

Happy new months to my friends, family, acquitances and all the beautiful people of hive community. It's a blessing and a privilege to enter a new month with peace of mind joy, happiness and a healthy body.

Even though we are not totally happy with the lack of rain. We are in a period when almost every farming activity has been halted by the lack of rain. Almost every of our crops are already poorly affected and only these Sorghum have been spared so far. It is lucky to have been planted by the water side almost close to a river. The ground under it is dried already but the leaves aren't affected unlike our other crops yet.

It is still maintenance its dark green color. Grasses have already overwhelmed the root of the guinea corn but we cannot carry out any weeding on it yet.

Manual weeding will expose the root of the Sorghum to the dry weather and this can result in subsequent gradual withering of the plant.

Application of chemicals is currently equally not advisable. After an application of herbicides of any form on the farm, it will need a down pour in not less than two weeks to dilute the chemicals and reduce it's subsequent effects on the crops while destroying the chemicals.

The grasses around the farm were equally affected by the ongoing drought and some of them are completely dried up already, the main farm in between the Sorghum is so bushy that we couldn't enter the farms.

The Sorghum plants needs thinning as well but there are just a whole lot of things we cannot do right now until the rains returns. Everything is really discouraging at this time more because some of our crops are fast being destroyed. We won't be able to plant new crops when the rains behind again and the ones on ground have almost withered away.
