Hello Ladies
I am delighted to receive an invitation from @temmylade to participate in this week's contest. I hope I'm not too late dropping this now. I found this week's topic to be an interesting one and desire to air my opinion; hopefully it gets to motivate someone here.
"The topic says that if given a chance, what business would I like to put up and why?"
To approach this topic I don't know if I should talk about my current reality of the business I have been able to set up for myself or talk more of other businesses I would like to explore, but which ever direction this follows, I hope that we would find something meaningful therein.
Having learnt a skill, colorful prints and fabrics like these are a constant motivation, I just want to get busy and see what I can design of more fabrics
A little background history
Why choose entrepreneurship and business creation?
At a point in our lives, we were faced with nothing but the choice to embrace entrepreneurship and create our own personal businesses. This challenge is linked to the unemployment rate in the country; it is only upon graduation from the university that the decision and choice of what to do often set in.
The reality sets in at that time, and this is definitely the chance to choose and decide what to do.
If along the line you have learned a skill or have kept yourself engaged in one way or another. It becomes really easy to start up a business.
But if that has been omitted along the line, your choice of business will hence determine what skill you may need to learn and the requirements to start up your business of choice.
That decision moment was my own chance to decide what business I would love to do. Should a business be about making money alone? What if you aren't happy selling tobacco or some hard drugs, and that's the business you choose?
For me, my business should and must revolve around my passion such that on days I don't make profits, my joy will not be diminished. I should do what makes me happy. On days I make more profits, it will be the icing on my cake. The most important thing is that I have a cake with me always.
Monitoring my passion is the most important thing here, and rather than speak about what business I would love to put up, I would rather show you which one I have already put up.
And of course this doesn't end here; there is more to what I desire to do in life. I love to explore different sectors and passions; hopefully I will put up as many businesses as opportunities come my way. If you read the book 50 Shades of Grey, you will learn about how Christian invested in several businesses.
Having multiple businesses is the surest way to secure some good future returns; it is the birthplace of billionaires. Their eggs are never in one basket.
Long story short, for now I am currently engaging and building two separate businesses that will be independent of each other.
The passion for fashion
"You have to keep busy and don't stay idle" were the nagging words that pushed me into fashion when I was practically idle after school. I only wanted to keep busy. But while in training I realized how much I could make new clothes for people.
I made quite a lot of new clothes for my friends, family, and acquaintances; it's such a beautiful experience to clothe people.
Fashion is evolving, and despite how expensive elegant fashion can be, we can shy away from sewing elaborate clothes and make simple ready-to-wear to fulfill the purpose of wearing clothes. In our community here people pay very little amount to have their clothes made; it's obvious they can't pay more, and rather than turn them down, we just work around their budgets.
Hopefully I will make some big money from fashion soon 🤣🤣, but for now I am selling my passion, skill, and voice.
Why Farming
Farming came as a habit for me. My state people are farmers, and that breeds the passion in me. I have been a farm girl right from my teenage years, and I have enjoyed eating fresh vegetables and my staples. I wish that more people would have more food to eat, healthy food to be precise.
Food is expensive these days, much more than the clothes we wear in some instances. We can do without clothes, but we cannot do without food. I wish that I would have a very, very large farming space that will grow more food and feed more people in the future. Certainly I would make some money feeding people.
I would certainly make some money growing and selling fresh food, but I would do my community the favor of feeding them some fresh food. It will go from staples to vegetables to poultry products and whatever is worth investing in.
I have my businesses registered with a business plan and set goals. The vision is definitely for an appointment time, and I can't wait to walk in the light of this dream. Meanwhile, I have been planning, working, and fulfilling some of the business visions.
Future plans
With more opportunities I would love to create a business from baking. A lot of people eat fast foods these days. What if we can create snacks that are healthy and probably an opportunity to process our harvested foods/vegetables, lettuces, and what have you into healthy meals and processed foods for people?
I would love to own a preliminary school for training children morally, intellectually, and in every way. Education is expensive these days; we can look into that and make some money impacting lives.
I believe that you can see the interesting reasons why I would love to venture into different businesses if the chances open up to me.
This is my submission for the #ladiesofhive contest.
