Raising poultry birds for commercial purpose is a good business and I'm so surprised that a single bird from this picture can be sold for about $300. Some birds are expensive because of their uniqueness, quality as food and for their basic used in traditional medicines. Traditional medicine is a practice in this part of the world and some products of animal origin are often utilized.
The birds were getting congested in their room and some of the birds were finding it difficult to lay egg. Congestion in birds reduces fertility and growth, a certain number of birds is meant to dwell in a calculated space, as the number of birds are getting larger, we decided to demolish their former bigger house to construct a larger pen.
For this we employed labourers who engaged in mixing sand and gravel, added a few blocks to the former house to raise it higher and cemented the floor here. While the work was ongoing, we set the birds loose so that they can have some freedom to play within the compound and just in matter of minute the house was filled up with the poop
The success we have in growing different specie of bird here is massive as my friends mom bought several different specie of birds, from broilers to layer, duck, chicken, turkey and others I could and others I couldn't recognize myself. Mum has bought more specie of birds as she is very much experienced in growing them.
We were watching keenly and took photos while the labourers continued with their construction work.
Before now there are different cages in the compound carrying different specie of animals and birds, the chickens were the ones that needed a larger pen as mummy is planning to start growing layer birds. Layers need more space and conducive environment than what is already on ground.

Having bought rabbits one time again, I was raising them on my own but later lost the 3 rabbits of 2 females and a male that I bought. Having seen the growth of the ones here I decided to make conscious efforts to learn how to grow birds the proper way. The knowledge of farming has been my strong points while mummy here is good with poultry birds. I would love to combine the two farming types of both birds and food crops, the only limitation now is getting a home that will be spacious enough for me to keep birds.
