Hello Hive

1000073103.jpg Motherhood comes with a lot of challenges for the women and a change in their body form is depressing for most women. We can encourage them and equally help them to stay attractive and fashionable through those stages boosting their self confidence and esteem. Regardless of whatever stage of life they find themselves in let's reach out to our mothers and women, My sister experienced a post-partum depression after her last Child which we lost as well, ever since then I realized how important it is not stand by her and not to keep away every form of body shaming and abuse. She has been healing and feeling better these few months.

A happy new week to us all, I hope and pray that we would all have enough strength and enthusiasm to do our best in the new weeks. It is important to start having a reflection on the journey of the year so far to see how much we have achieved or any other thing we need to do to hit more progress before the year finally wraps up

And talking about this time and season it's usually a moment of celebration for most of us in this part of the world. All of the major holidays are in this season hence most people pick their celebrations dates to fall within the last days of the year. There will be lots of celebrations of weddings, naming ceremonies, Christmas and family reunions, to this effect most of our sewings projects often fall within this periods.

The very first dress I'm making for my sister in this season is one that she will be wearing for her child's annual church anniversary. The children holds convention every year to celebrate and thank God for the year, the parents are also encouraged to celebrate with their children.

In order to her of some money to sew this dress with some other fashion designers I decided to spare out some time out of my busy farm harvest and other schedule to sew this dress. These days I spend more time in the farm and gets really tired to sew. I decided to make a schedule to spend at least two hours of sewing daily while I go about other business.

I started with cutting the fabric to using her measurements for the basic front and back block.

Here I also cut out the linings using the same measurements.

I got a plain satin fabric to use for the neckline which I had cut out to follow a jewel neckline shape here.

Plain fabrics often add some additional highlights to our outfits if we do not have enough to spend on accessories to embellish our outfits

Sewing this necklines design often comes with so much challenge for me as I often do not get to sew it as neat as I desired.

After sewing all the necessary parts I then drew out my dart lines and sewed some darts into the dress. Darts are important to give our dress more fittings.

Having attached the sleeves to the dress I barely made it to completion, often times I like my sister to try her dress before I add the zipper and other finishing touches, her size and physique keeps changing that I always have to retake her measurements with every new outfit.

Such is the challenge that comes with childbirth, women are forced to adopt new body shapes and regardless of how hard they exercise and diet, it is often difficult to return to our former body. It is always a challenge to find someone who can sew fitted outfits for her hence I keep trying my best to make her look good always. It is good to encourage women especially mothers teaching them how to live their best and healthiest lives through childbearing and nursing.
