Crecí escuchando a Raphael, Camilo Sesto, Alí Primera, Ricardo Montaner, Rocío Durcal, Reynaldo Armas y en navidad a Nancy Ramos. Todos en discos de vinilo.
Me encantaba ver las carátulas, sentía que comunicaban algo y al enlazar la imagen con la voz, todo cobraba vida.
Mi tía Zaida estaba enamorada de Camilo Sesto y yo de Rudy La Scala, ambas suspirábamos viendo sus rostros en la portada de los discos.
Y así entendí, en una charla, el significado de la fotografía que está detrás de la carátula del vinilo, la intención del diseño gráfico, del texto, de la estética, y de la influencia cultural del vinilo en el mundo, éste "no es solo música; es un objeto físico con vida propia, que requiere cuidado, atención y dedicación".
I grew up listening to Raphael, Camilo Sesto, Alí Primera, Ricardo Montaner, Rocío Durcal, Reynaldo Armas, and Nancy Ramos at Christmas. All on vinyl records.
I loved looking at the covers; I felt they communicated something, and when I linked the image with the voice, everything came to life.
My aunt Zaida was in love with Camilo Sesto and I was in love with Rudy La Scala. We both sighed when we saw their faces on the album covers.
And so, in a conversation, I understood the meaning of the photograph behind the vinyl cover, the intention of the graphic design, the text, the aesthetics, and the cultural influence of vinyl in the world. It's “not just music; it's a physical object with a life of its own, requiring care, attention, and dedication.”

No sabía si reír o llorar porque mi mamá regaló todos los discos que existían en mi casa; hasta el tocadiscos... ¡ay el tocadiscos! ese sonido tan peculiar de la aguja con una pelusa...
Mi primer disco fue "Los Fantasmas del Caribe" ja, ja, ja era un disco compartido, es decir, no era mío nada más, sino de mis dos hermanas, fue el regalo de mi papá para un Día del Niño; yo también amaba a Los Fantasmas y el famoso tema "Muchacha triste" ja, ja, ja
¡Se me cayó la cédula!
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because my mom gave away all the records we had at home, even the record player... oh, the record player! That peculiar sound of the needle with a piece of lint...
My first record was “Los Fantasmas del Caribe” ha ha ha it was a shared record, that is, it wasn't just mine, but also my two sisters', it was a gift from my dad for Children's Day; I also loved Los Fantasmas and the famous song “Muchacha triste” ha ha ha
I dropped my ID card!
