Hi all Hive friends, this time I will post a photo of bamboo putu cake and how to make it.
Kue Putu Bambu is a very popular traditional Indonesian snack, especially in Java. This cake is usually sold by traveling vendors who use a bamboo steamer that produces a distinctive whistling sound, hence the name Kue Putu Bambu.
Characteristics of Kue Putu Bambu:
Shape: Short cylinder, shaped like a bamboo mold.
Color: Usually green because it uses pandan or suji leaves as a natural coloring, everyone at Hive.
Filling: Liquid brown sugar in the center.
Aroma and Flavor: Fragrant pandan and coconut, sweet from the brown sugar, soft and slightly coarse texture from the rice flour.
Topping: Steamed grated coconut on the outside.
The ingredients for Kue Putu Bambu are as follows:
Rice flour (ground)
Pandan water (suji)
Shaved brown sugar
Grated coconut (mixed with a little salt, steamed)
Salt
Bamboo mold
Steamer
How to make Kue Putu Bambu:

Mix rice flour with a little salt and pandan water until it has a sandy texture.

Prepare a bamboo mold and add half of the batter.

Add the grated brown sugar in the center, then cover with the batter.

Steam in a special steamer (usually vendors use a bamboo steamer that stands on a steamer pan).

Steam for a few minutes until cooked through and fragrant.

Serve with steamed grated coconut.
