Hi all Hive friends, this time I will post a photo of a buffalo starling

The Buffalo Starling is a species of bird from the starling family that is widely known in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. This bird is also known by other names, such as the black starling or the buffalo starling.

Physical Characteristics of the Buffalo Starling:

Body size: Approximately 25 cm, medium for a bird.

Feather color: Predominantly glossy black, sometimes with a purple or greenish tinge, friends of the Hive.

Beak and feet: Bright yellow, friends of the Hive.

Eye ring: Usually has a striking yellow eye ring.

Tail: Rather short, with a rounded tip, friends of the Hive.

Habitat and Distribution

Often found in rice fields, grasslands, gardens, and even residential areas, friends of the Hive.

Often seen perching on the backs of buffalo or cows to feed on ticks or insects, this is the origin of the name Buffalo Starling, friends of the Hive.

A social bird, often seen in groups of fellow buffalo starlings.

Active and vocal, it often makes loud and varied calls with all its hive friends.

It likes to perch in low trees, on power lines, or on the backs of large animals such as buffalo or cattle.

Starlings eat insects, worms, fruits, and seeds from its hive friends.

Starlings' Speaking Ability:

Like other starlings, this bird can imitate human speech if trained from a young age, although not as fluently as the white-rumped shama or myna.

That's all for my post this time, see you in my next post
