The turtle dove is a type of songbird that is quite popular in Indonesia, especially among traditional bird lovers, friends of Hive. Their voices are indeed very melodious.

The dominant plumage is gray-brown with black stripes on the chest—hence the name striata.
The eyes are red or reddish-brown.

Local Turtle Doves: Found in Indonesia, have a soft and distinctive rhythmic voice.
Bangkok Turtle Doves: Larger, louder and more resonant, often entered in competitions.
White/Albino Turtle Doves: Rare, highly valued for their uniqueness and mystical beliefs.
Katuranggan Turtle Dove: A type of turtle dove with unique physical characteristics, believed to bring good luck.

In Javanese culture, turtle doves are often associated with spirituality and good fortune.
They are a symbol of wisdom and serenity.
In the past, they were only owned by nobles or prominent individuals.
Turtle doves with certain sounds are believed to bring good luck, fortune, or authority.
- Turtle dove care requirements
Feed: grains such as barley, brown rice, millet, or special pellets.
They need to be sunned every morning to maintain their health and vocal quality.
They prefer quiet, uncrowded areas.
Bathing is sufficient once or twice a week by spraying them gently or using a bathing container.
