Today, I am joining you once again in this TBT community to reminisce about the day my daughter was confirmed. My daughter studied at a nuns' school in my city, and it took her a while to get confirmed; she did so at the age of 14. These types of schools usually prepare students for a year, starting right at the beginning of the school year, and the ceremony takes place at the end of July. Her godfather is a priest who has always loved her very much. Since she was very young, he told her that he would be her confirmation godfather. By then, he was no longer the parish priest in my city, but in another one about three hours away. Whenever he came to visit the parish, the first thing he asked us when he saw us was, “When is Maria going to be confirmed?” So, we waited that long and told him about a month before. He was very happy and gladly arrived at the parish the day before. I was so happy that the ceremony was at 9 a.m. and he was ready at 8. We picked him up and arrived at the school. When Mass began, I remember that my husband and I laughed a lot because the other parents were commenting that little María was missing her godfather and we would have to wait. It turned out that he was in the presbytery accompanying the school priest and the bishop who would celebrate the Eucharist. I remember as if it were today that when the children were walking in line, she was walking alone. When she reached the altar, her godfather came down and presented the girl to the bishop so that he could lay his hands on her and confirm her. At that moment, I remember that people were surprised and laughed and commented to each other that she did have a godfather. I also remember a lady who, as we were leaving Mass, approached us and said, “I was very scared. I thought the godfather hadn't arrived.” After the mass, the four of us went to a very nice restaurant to celebrate this moment with a delicious lunch and to thank God for the occasion. Hola amigos lectores de la comunidad @Throwack Thursday, espero que todos tengan un feliz jueves de TBT. Hoy me encuentro con ustedes una vez más en esta comunidad de TBT con el fin de traer a mi memoria lo que fue el día en que mi hija hizo su confirmación. Mi hija estudio en un colegio de monjas en mi ciudad, para hacer su confirmación tardo un poco, la hizo a los 14 años. Este tipo de colegio suelen preparar un año a los estudiantes, inician justo cuando inician su año escolar y a finales del mes de julio hacen su acto. Su padrino es un sacerdote que siempre la ha querido un monto. Desde que estaba muy chica, el mismo le dijo que el seria su padrino de confirmación. Para ese entonces ya el no estaba de párroco en mi ciudad, si no en otra que dista unas 3horas. Siempre que venia de visita a la parroquia, al vernos lo primero que nos preguntaba era, ¿Cuándo va hacer la confirmación María?. Total que se espero ese tiempo y se le aviso como un mes antes, se alegro mucho y muy gustosamente llego a la parroquia un día antes. Estaba tan contento que el acto era a las 9 de la mañana y el ya a las 8 estaba listo, pasamos por el y llegamos al colegio. Al iniciar la misa recuero que mi esposo y yo nos reíamos mucho porque los demás padres de los niños comentaban, pero a la niña María le falta su padrina, tenemos que esperar, resulta ser que el estaba en el presbiterio acompañando al sacerdote del colegio y al obispo quien celebraría la Eucaristía. Recuerdo como si fuese hoy que cuando los niños iban en fila ella iba sola, al llegar al altar su padrino bajo y le presenta la niña al obispo para que le impusiera las manos y así quedara confirmada. En ese momento recuerdo que las personas quedaron sorprendidas y se reían y comentaban unos a otros que si tenia su padrino, además recuerdo a una señora, que al salir de la misa se nos acerco y nos dijo, yo estaba muy asustada, creía que el padrino no había llegado. Al culminar la misa fuimos los cuatros a un restaurante muy lindo a celebrar con un rico almuerzo este momento y a dar gracias a Dios por el momento, todos estábamos felices y contentos por haber confirmado su fe ante Dios. Lastima que las fotos del restaurante la tenia en un teléfono que se me quemo. Hasta aquí mi contenido, espero que sea de su agrado.
