La Razón versus el odio
Hola a todos, un gran saludo a todo los usuarios de la plataforma Hive, y como siempre un especial abrazo a la comunidad de Holos&Lotus. En estos tiempos tan difíciles y complejos, me complace mucho poder compartir reflexiones con ustedes en esta comunidad, un espacio donde las ideas fluyen con respeto y donde cada quien expone sus experiencias y pensamientos. Hoy, quiero invitarlos a reflexionar juntos sobre un tema que nos toca el corazón y nos hace cuestionar el rumbo que está tomando la sociedad.
Ayer, 10 de septiembre de 2025, fue un día triste, no solo para la sociedad estadounidense, sino para el mundo en general. En la Universidad de Utah Valley, en Orem, Utah, el activista conservador Charlie Kirk fue víctima de un atentado con arma de fuego mientras hablaba en un evento al aire libre, como parte de su gira "American Comeback Tour". Kirk, de 31 años, estaba participando en uno de sus populares debates abiertos, invitando a los estudiantes a desafiar sus ideas, cuando un atacante abrió fuego contra él. El disparo le alcanzó en el cuello, causando una hemorragia masiva que lo condujo a la muerte, a pesar de los esfuerzos de los paramédicos. El incidente provocó pánico entre la multitud, una masa de gente entre 3 y 4 mil personas. Las autoridades detuvieron a un sospechoso, aunque la investigación federal continúa para determinar los motivos y hallar a los culpables de este horrendo crimen. Este acto de violencia no solo le arrebató la vida a Charlie Kirk, sino que también representa un atentado contra la libertad de expresión, e irónicamente en un campus universitario, en un lugar concebido para ser un santuario para el intercambio de ideas.
Probablemente es primera vez que escuches sobre Charlie Kirk, y es importante conocer un poco sobre quien era y que hacía. Charlie nació en 1993 en Chicago, Illinois, y creció en los suburbios de la ciudad en una familia de clase media con valores importantes como el trabajo duro y la fe. Desde joven, mostró un interés por la política y las ideas conservadoras. En el año 2012 y con tan solo 18 años fundó Turning Point USA, una organización dedicada a promover principios como el libre mercado, la libertad individual y el patriotismo entre los jóvenes universitarios. Aunque no asistió a la universidad de manera tradicional, de igual manera se convirtió en un generador de ideas, viajando por todo su país, hablando y exponiendo sus ideas y visión de la vida en campus universitarios y eventos. Sus ideales se centraban en defender la Constitución de su país, promover las ideas conservadoras y fomentar el debate abierto. Kirk se hizo conocido por sus debates públicos, donde invitaba a cualquiera a "probar que estaba equivocado" con argumentos lógicos, siempre con un enfoque en el diálogo racional. A lo largo de su vida, escribió libros, apareció en programas de televisión y se convirtió en un referente de una juventud con creencias en la fe, la familia y el desarrollo y crecimiento partiendo del trabajo y el estudio. Pero más allá de su vida pública, Kirk era un hijo devoto y un padre feliz. Se casó con su esposa Erika en 2021 y tenía dos hijos pequeños a quienes adoraba. En entrevistas, hablaba de cómo su familia le daba equilibrio, y es que detrás del activismo y la figura pública había un hombre común, con sueños simples como ver crecer a sus niños en un mundo libre.
Este trágico evento me entristeció mucho, y se me hace imposible no pensar en una sociedad podrida, donde el odio parece haber crecido profundamente y alcanzarlo todo con sus raíces. Y es que, no habían transcurrido muchas horas desde el atentado, cuando las redes sociales se llenaron de publicaciones que celebraban la muerte de Kirk o se burlaban de lo ocurrido. Usuarios anónimos y otros no tanto, y cuentas influyentes compartieron memes crueles, mensajes como "uno menos" o incluso justificaciones basadas en desacuerdos políticos, alegando que sus ideas "merecían" tal fin. Es desgarrador ver cómo la humanidad se pierde en el odio digital, donde el dolor de una familia se convierte en motivo de risas. Peor aún, algunos medios de comunicación y canales de televisión intentaron suavizar el incidente, insinuando que podría tratarse de un "accidente" o enfocándose en detalles irrelevantes para diluir la gravedad de lo ocurrido, justificando el atentado porque de alguna manera "él se lo buscó", solo por promover sus ideas de manera pacífica y racional. En lugar de condenar la violencia, hubo coberturas que se perdían en proponer "motivaciones" del atacante, como si realmente hubiese algo que pueda excusar un crimen de esta magnitud. No tengo duda de que toda esta reacción negativa, devela una verdad que no se puede ocultar, y que es la podredumbre social: el resentimiento ha reemplazado al respeto, y la empatía no existe entre polos opuesto, aún en un evento tan terrible como este. En un mundo conectado, más bien la humanidad debería unirse contra estos actos barbáricos, pero en cambio, vemos cómo el odio se expande, llegando a estos extremos.
Definitivamente vivimos en una sociedad dividida en dos mundos opuestos. Por un lado, el mundo del razonamiento, el pensamiento y la palabra, donde las ideas se debaten con argumentos, evidencia y con respeto. Es el mundo que Kirk representaba: un lugar donde un joven activista podía pararse frente a una multitud hostil y decir "pruébenme que estoy equivocado", confiando en que las palabras, no los puños, resuelvan las diferencias. Este mundo se enfoca y busca construir una sociedad fuerte e inteligente, busca alcanzar el progreso haciendo que la juventud y sus mentes evolucionen. Por el otro lado, está el mundo del odio, representada por individuos que atacan cuando los argumentos fallan. Cuando estas personas no puede refutar una idea con lógica, recurren a la violencia para silenciarla. El atentado contra Kirk es un ejemplo claro: en lugar de debatir sus puntos de vista sobre economía o libertad, el atacante eligió el camino cobarde del odio, un ataque desde las sombras, un acto que no resuelve nada, solo genera más dolor y causa más división, más aún.
¿Cómo hemos llegado a un punto donde el resentimiento y la maldad prevalecen sobre el diálogo? El odio nace del miedo y la frustración y es fácil para las mentes débiles dejarse arrastar por él, pero la razón requiere esfuerzo, paciencia y humildad. La razón debe prevalecer porque es la base de nuestra civilización ¿Qué somos si no podemos razonar y debatir y así solucionar los problemas? ¿Cómo creer que la solución está en eliminar con violencia al que tiene un pensamiento distinto?. No podemos permitir que el odio gane. En cambio, cultivando el pensamiento crítico, podemos superar divisiones. Hay que recordar que grandes cambios en la sociedad, como los derechos civiles y la democracia, vinieron de palabras y reflexiones, no de balas. En estos momentos oscuros, debemos elegir la razón, escuchar al otro, cuestionar nuestras creencias y buscar el común acuerdo.
Aunque se trata de un evento atroz, no podemos rendirnos ante su maldad y su oscuro objetivo, por el contrario, debemos hacer que prevalezca la razón. Pienso que la voz de Charlie Kirk no ha sido callada, por el contrario, se multiplicará. Y es momento de reflexionar y seguir su ejemplo, defendiendo ideas y promoviendo la libertad, valorando la familia, el amor y la fe, y desechar la violencia y la irracionalidad.
Trabajemos con determinación para que la razón ilumine el camino. Juntos, podemos construir un mundo donde las palabras triunfen sobre el odio.

The Reason vs the hate
Hello everyone, a big greeting to all users of the Hive platform, and as always, a special hug to the Holos&Lotus community. In these difficult and complex times, I am very pleased to be able to share reflections with you in this community, a space where ideas flow with respect and where everyone shares their experiences and thoughts. Today, I want to invite you to reflect together on a topic that touches our hearts and makes us question the direction society is taking.
Yesterday, September 10, 2025, was a sad day, not only for American society but for the world in general. At Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was the victim of a firearm attack while speaking at an outdoor event, as part of his "American Comeback Tour." Kirk, 31, was participating in one of his popular open debates, inviting students to challenge his ideas, when an attacker opened fire on him. The shot hit him in the neck, causing a massive hemorrhage that led to his death, despite the efforts of paramedics. The incident caused panic among the crowd, a mass of 3 to 4 thousand people. Authorities arrested a suspect, although the federal investigation continues to determine the motives and find those responsible for this horrific crime. This act of violence not only took Charlie Kirk's life but also represents an attack on freedom of expression, and ironically on a university campus, a place conceived to be a sanctuary for the exchange of ideas.
It is probably the first time you have heard of Charlie Kirk, and it is important to know a little about who he was and what he did. Charlie was born in 1993 in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in the city's suburbs in a middle-class family with important values such as hard work and faith. From a young age, he showed an interest in politics and conservative ideas. In 2012, at just 18 years old, he founded Turning Point USA, an organization dedicated to promoting principles such as free markets, individual liberty, and patriotism among young university students. Although he did not attend college in a traditional way, he still became a generator of ideas, traveling throughout his country, speaking and presenting his ideas and vision of life on university campuses and at events. His ideals focused on defending his country's Constitution, promoting conservative ideas, and fostering open debate. Kirk became known for his public debates, where he invited anyone to "prove him wrong" with logical arguments, always with a focus on rational dialogue. Throughout his life, he wrote books, appeared on television shows, and became a role model for youth who believed in faith, family, and development and growth based on work and study. But beyond his public life, Kirk was a devoted son and a happy father. He married his wife Erika in 2021 and had two small children whom he adored. In interviews, he talked about how his family gave him balance, and that behind the activism and public figure was an ordinary man, with simple dreams like seeing his children grow up in a free world.
This tragic event saddened me deeply, and I find it impossible not to think of a rotten society, where hate seems to have grown profoundly and reached everything with its roots. And, not many hours had passed since the attack when social media filled with posts celebrating Kirk's death or making fun of what had happened. Anonymous and not-so-anonymous users, and influential accounts, shared cruel memes, messages like "one less," or even justifications based on political disagreements, alleging that his ideas "deserved" such an end. It is heartbreaking to see how humanity gets lost in digital hate, where a family's pain becomes a reason for laughter. Even worse, some media outlets and television channels tried to soften the incident, insinuating that it might be an "accident" or focusing on irrelevant details to dilute the seriousness of what happened, justifying the attack because in some way "he asked for it," just for promoting his ideas peacefully and rationally. Instead of condemning the violence, there were coverages that got lost in proposing the attacker's "motivations," as if there could really be something that could excuse a crime of this magnitude. I have no doubt that all this negative reaction reveals a truth that cannot be hidden, and that is social rot: resentment has replaced respect, and empathy does not exist between opposing poles, even in an event as terrible as this. In a connected world, humanity should instead unite against these barbaric acts, but instead, we see how hate spreads, reaching these extremes.
We definitely live in a society divided into two opposing worlds. On one side, the world of reason, thought, and words, where ideas are debated with arguments, evidence, and with respect. This is the world that Kirk represented: a place where a young activist could stand in front of a hostile crowd and say "prove me wrong," trusting that words, not fists, would resolve differences. This world focuses on and seeks to build a strong and intelligent society, it seeks to achieve progress by making youth and their minds evolve. On the other side is the world of hate, represented by individuals who attack when arguments fail. When these people cannot refute an idea with logic, they resort to violence to silence it. The attack on Kirk is a clear example: instead of debating his views on economics or freedom, the attacker chose the cowardly path of hate, an attack from the shadows, an act that solves nothing, it only generates more pain and causes even more division.
How have we reached a point where resentment and evil prevail over dialogue? Hate is born from fear and frustration and it is easy for weak minds to be dragged along by it, but reason requires effort, patience, and humility. Reason must prevail because it is the basis of our civilization. What are we if we cannot reason and debate and thus solve problems? How can we believe that the solution is to violently eliminate those who have a different thought? We cannot allow hate to win. Instead, by cultivating critical thinking, we can overcome divisions. We must remember that great changes in society, like civil rights and democracy, came from words and reflections, not from bullets. In these dark moments, we must choose reason, listen to the other person, question our beliefs, and seek common ground.
Although it is an atrocious event, we cannot surrender to its evil and its dark objective; on the contrary, we must make reason prevail. I believe that Charlie Kirk's voice has not been silenced; on the contrary, it will multiply. And it is time to reflect and follow his example, defending ideas and promoting freedom, valuing family, love, and faith, and discarding violence and irrationality.
Let's work with determination so that reason illuminates the way. Together, we can build a world where words triumph over hate.
