About ten to fifteen years ago I was completely different. Back then life was chaotic, messy, yet full of dreams. I wanted to do so many things! I had big dreams a desire to reach far horizons but I didn't have the patience or discipline to organize them. Looking back now I feel that if I could have organized those dreams a little better if I had planned and taken each step forward then perhaps today's present would have been brighter and more prosperous.
However this does not mean that I am unhappy with my current position. On the contrary I am proud of today. When people respectfully call me "Engineer Sir" when I go out, my heart fills with a different feeling. This address is not just a name, it is the result of a journey, it is the recognition of my struggle. I remember how many times I have stumbled, how many times I have broken, how many dreams have been shattered by a little push. But with those broken pieces, I have built a new life, created a new path.
Of course, the truth is many dreams have not been fulfilled. Maybe those dreams were not built on such a solid foundation, so they collapsed in the slightest breeze. Still the pain of losing them has taught me no dream can be neglected, because every dream hides a possibility for the future.
Today I know time passes, but dreams cannot be stopped. I still dream new dreams draw new goals. But not haphazardly like before, this time I have learned to organize my dreams, to move forward with a plan. Because past failures have taught me that to fulfill dreams, desire alone is not enough, you need consistency, dedication, and patience.
If I could show the me of ten years ago the me of today, maybe he would have been surprised and said You have changed a lot, you have really moved forward.” And I would have replied with a gentle smile Yes, I have moved forward but it is not over yet. There is still a long way ahead, there are many more dreams to fulfill.”
Today’s position gives me satisfaction, but it does not teach me to stop. Because in this long journey called life, every day is a new chapter, every morning a new possibility. That's why I still dream and I keep moving forward, one step at a time, to fulfill them.
