We all make mistakes in life. Whether it's a mistake in writing an answer in an exam as a child, or a wrong decision in a relationship or career as an adult, everyone learns from mistakes. But often it seems that if time could be turned back, everything would be different. This is where the fantasy of time travel is born.
But science says that it is not yet possible to reverse time. In Einstein's theory of relativity, we know that time can be slowed down or sped up, just as the speed of time works differently in different places in space. However, we do not yet have the technology to go back in time and change an event completely. Still, we are fascinated by stories of time travel because people always want to erase the mistakes they have made. We think, if only we had a little more time then, if we had said that thing differently, if we had made a different decision, maybe life would have gone the other way.
Movies and series bring this fantasy to life even more. In Avengers: Endgame, the heroes go back in time to collect the Infinity Stones, in Interstellar we see how time works differently near black holes, and in the Dark series, we find a mysterious presentation of how the past, present, and future are intertwined with each other. However, in these stories, we notice one thing: when someone tries to change the past, new problems arise. That is, when we try to change time, the results are not always as we want.
In reality, the question arises: do we really need to erase our mistakes? If time travel were really possible, we might be able to fix some mistakes. But think about it, those mistakes are what built us up. A failure taught us to try again, a broken relationship taught us to be patient, and a wrong decision made us more cautious about the future. If we erased our mistakes, we might not have become the strong, mature, or experienced people we are today. So mistakes are not really a curse, but a stepping stone to new learning.
Even if time travel is not possible in reality, we have the present in our hands. We cannot change the past but we can learn from those mistakes and do better today and make the future beautiful. So I think we should not rewrite the mistakes. Rather, we should start a new chapter in our lives by building on the mistakes. This learning is the real power and this is our real life time travel where the learning from the past changes the present and illuminates the future.
