Hello, how are you doing?
I am very happy to be here in the #blackandwhite community, sharing my passion for photography and doing my bit to document life in my city. There is a saying we use a lot in Cuba: sometimes what happens is for the best, and I literally experienced that yesterday, Saturday. The day before, I had planned to go out in the evening to take some photos, but I had barely walked a few meters when it started to rain. I hadn't checked the weather forecast in time and had to return to my sister's house feeling a little sad. That forced me to adjust my schedule and go out very early on Saturday, but as the saying goes, it worked out for me, and very well indeed.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
The first thing I encounter are puddles of water from the previous night's downpour, which create beautiful reflections. This was the first one I saw, and I automatically sat down there to wait for a car to appear in my photo, of course.
Since the seawall is a must-see, interesting things happen there all the time. I won't go into details, but yes, most of the time it inspires me to try something similar to minimalism.
"Hey, buddy, this is terrible, things are awful! Take the photo and get out of here," the bus driver yelled at me. But talking about "things" would be a topic for another post.
And the reflections returned. There came a point when I found it amusing because more than one person, seeing me looking so intently at the ground, at the water, searching for a good angle, came up to me to ask what I was looking for there. It was funny.
And we can't forget the cats; it would be unforgivable to pass them by.
The city is full of messages everywhere, some more explicit than others, but they are there nonetheless.
In the end, it went well for me. I didn't have to walk as much as other times, although I was a little tired, but that's just a matter of age. By noon, at the latest, I was taking the train back home, satisfied that I had enjoyed the experience to the fullest.

Hola, ¿cómo les va?
Me da mucha satisfacción poder estar por aquí en la comunidad #blackandwhite compartiendo mi pasión por la fotografía y aportando un granito de arena al documentar la vida en mi ciudad. Hay una frase que usamos mucho en Cuba que dice: a veces lo que sucede conviene, y literalmente lo viví ayer sábado. El día anterior me había planificado salir en la tarde-noche para hacer algunas fotos; apenas había caminado unos metros, comenzó a llover. No me percaté a tiempo del parte meteorológico y tuve que regresar a casa de mi hermana un tanto triste. Eso me obligó a ajustar mi estadía y salir el sábado bien temprano, pero como dice la frase que les mencioné, me convino, y mucho.
Lo primero que encuentro son los charcos de agua por el aguacero de la noche anterior, que me daban unos reflejos muy bonitos. Este fue el primero que vi y, automáticamente, allí me senté a esperar un auto en mi foto, por supuesto.
Ya que el muro del malecón es obligatorio, allí pasan cosas interesantes todo el tiempo. No daré detalles, pero sí, la mayoría de las veces me estimula para intentar hacer algo parecido al minimalismo.
—¡Oye, socio, esto está fatal, la cosa está terrible! Haz la foto y vete de aquí —me gritó el señor del autobús—. Pero hablar de «la cosa» sería tema para otra publicación.
Y volvieron los reflejos. Llegó un momento en que me daba gracia porque más de una persona, al verme mirando tanto al suelo, al agua, yo buscando un buen ángulo, se me acercaba a preguntar qué cosa buscaba allí. Fue gracioso.
Y no pueden faltar los gatos, sería imperdonable pasar de largo.
La ciudad está llena de mensajes por todos lados, algunos más explícitos, otros no tanto, de todas formas ahí están.
Al final me fue bien, no tuve que caminar tanto como otras veces, un poco cansado, eso sí, pero es cuestión de la edad 😁. Al mediodía, a más tardar, estaba tomando el tren de regreso a casa y con la satisfacción de haber disfrutado la experiencia al máximo.
