This is my first post in this community and I hope it's going to be a good journey with you all. I am a big fan of anime since my childhood, I grew up watching Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z, but when I was 13 years old I discovered anime. It's a long journey I am 24 years old now. 11 years I have spent watching animes. My favourite genre is fantasy, supernatural, time travel, horror and romance. I do read manga and manhwa but most of the time I prefer to watch anime because it's faster than reading. I would like to start reviewing animes and hopefully can become a good member of The Anime Realm Community.

This a story of Ken Kaneki who's life changes after one drastic event. Kaneki is a frail, has black hair, he is a student at an University. One day his friend Hideyoshi sets a date for him to go on a date with a woman. Her name is Rize Kamishiro she has long wavy purple hair, purple eyes, full lips and wears glasses. They both met each other and were interested in each other. After a while she lures him to a deserted area which is a construction side and attacks him. Rize was not a human being but a ghoul and that puts Kaneki into a shock. When she was attacking him an accident occurred. Steel beams fell on them and Rize was crushed by steel beams. Both of them were sent to the hospital by the people in the area.
Kaneki was severely injured by Rize so her organs were transplanted into Kaneki's body. Kaneki was unaware of the organ transplant initially. After reaching home he tried to eat food but each time he would vomit. He could not bear to eat any kind of food, his body was rejecting it. Later he discovered he has become a ghoul but not fully. He is now half ghoul and a half human being. His stomach can no longer digest human foods. It means he has to hunt humans now.

Kaneki was disgusted by himself because he never wanted to become a ghoul. For his condition he was introduced to the cafe by Yoshimura. He started working there part-time. There he also meets Touka who helped him throughout his journey. Kaneki does not want to hunt and eat humans so he took help from them. As time passed Kaneki's journey became hard he goes through rough phases. Many other interesting characters are introduced. The story unfolds many things that are unexpected. Each character has their own importance in the story. It becomes difficult to hate or like a character once you understand their background or trauma.
I have not read the manga, I still love Tokyo Ghoul season 1. I feel it's fine for watchers to only be satisfied with the anime. You can not be disappointed about something you don't know about. As I have not read manga I do not feel any dissatisfaction. I have seen many complaining about the anime not being good as the manga, but people like me are enjoying it as it is. I would suggest manga readers to not watch this anime because they won't like it anyway. But I think watching season 1 is fine because the difference starts in season 2.
You will find murderous and blood-splatter in season 1, which is totally insane. Kaneki and Touka makes amazing leads. Ken Kaneki's human side and a ghoul side gives us the opportunity to understand two completely different perspectives. Trust me, ever since episode one, I was fully invested into the anime. This is a great anime for those who like deep horror/thriller animes. I have never seen any other animes with such emotions and meanings in the storyline. Each character is written very well and the story has multiple layers.
No matter what others say the plot is definitely interesting and addicting. This is a must-watch anime! Tokyo Ghoul is in my top 10 list of favorite anime. The thing that I like the most about this anime is the character of Kaneki is not born overpowered or has everything on his plate. I would like to give this anime as a recommendation to watch it in your free time. I can guarantee that you're gonna enjoy it as much as I did.
