Heute möchte ich auf das Thema "Schnitt" in Stop-Motion Videos eingehen. Wieder nutze ich dafür das Thema einer Verfolgungsjagd. Euch treffen also die alten Bekannten an, die ihr aus meinem kurzen Clip zur Kamerafahrt kennt.

Die Planung

Da ich auf die gleiche Kulisse wie im letzten Video zurückgreifen wollte, musste ich mir natürlich auch überlegen, was ich anders machen möchte. Um einen sinnvollen Schnitt zu ermöglichen, war mir das erste Video zu kurz, so dass ich den Clip verlängern musste. Auch wollte ich euch den Unterschied der Bilder pro Sekunde zeigen. Für dieses Video entschied ich mich für 8 Bilder pro Sekunde. Ich musste die Kulisse also vergrößern. Die gesamte Szene spielt nun auf 6 Grundplatten.

Um einen sauberen Schnitt hinzubekommen, verwende ich zwei Kameras. Hierbei wird jedes Motiv jeweils von beiden Kameras fotografiert und danach für das nächste Bild verändert. Natürlich muss auch die Positionierung der Kameras bedacht werden. Die andere Kamera soll ja nicht auf den Bildern zu sehen sein und die Perspektive soll sich merklich unterscheiden. Leider muss ich zwei unterschiedliche Kameras verwenden, so dass der Weißabgleich nicht 100% passt und meine Bildbearbeitungskenntnisse nicht ausreichen.

Gibt es noch etwas zu verbessern? Ein Detail gefiel mir noch nicht so ganz und ich habe es versucht hier einzubauen. Erkennt ihr den Unterschied?

Die einzelnen Clips

Zunächst einmal wird jede Kamera wie bei einem normalen Stop-Motion Video eingesetzt. Bild - Veränderung am Set - Bild - usw. Somit entstehen natürlich auch einzelne Clips, die ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte. Ein Raser biegt um die Ecke. Durch Zufall steht auf der Feuerwache ein Polizeiwagen und kann direkt die Verfolgung aufnehmen.

Der Schnitt

Grundsätzlich setzt sich ein geschnittenes Video bei Stop-Motion nicht anders zusammen als ein normales. Lediglich muss man sinnvolle Punkte identifizieren, wo man den Schnitt ansetzt. Ansonsten setzt man die einzelnen Fotos wie gewohnt zusammen.

Das Resultat

Dieses Video soll nun die Szene dynamischer wirken lassen als die einzelnen Clips. Aber seht selbst, ob es mir gelungen ist?

Bezüglich der Software bin ich aktuell dabei einiges zu testen. Leider bin ich mit noch keiner Lösung wirklich zufrieden. Die beiden hier verwendeten sind für die kurzen Clips allerdings in Ordnung.

Today I would like to talk about the topic "Cutting" in stop-motion videos. Again I use the theme of a car chase. So you will meet the old acquaintances you know from my short clip on the camera movement.

The planning

Since I wanted to use the same setting as in the last video, I had to think about what I wanted to do differently. In order to make cutting possible, the first video was too short for me, so I had to lengthen the clip. I also wanted to show you the difference of the pictures per second. For this video I chose 8 frames per second. So I had to enlarge the scenery. The whole scene now plays on 6 base plates.

To get a clean cut, I use two cameras. Each subject is photographed by both cameras and then modified for the next image. Of course, the positioning of the cameras must also be considered. The other camera should not be visible on the pictures and the perspective should differ noticeably. Unfortunately, I have to use two different cameras so that the white balance does not fit 100% and my knowledge of image processing is not sufficient.

Is there anything else to improve? I didn't really like one detail and I tried to install it here. See the difference?

The individual clips

First of all, each camera is used like a normal stop-motion video. Picture - change on set - picture - etc. This will of course also create individual clips, which I don't want to withhold from you. A speeding car turns the corner. By chance, a police car is parked on the fire station and can immediately start the pursuit.

The Cutting

In principle, an edited video in stop-motion does not consist of anything other than a normal video. The only thing you have to do is identify meaningful points where you want to make the cut. Otherwise, the individual photos are put together as usual.

The result

This video is supposed to make the scene appear more dynamic than the individual clips. But see for yourself if I have succeeded?
