September 27 was undoubtedly a very special day. An event was held at the Gran Salón Odas to celebrate three important dates. One of them was the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the Association of Public Accountants, which coincides with the creation of the Law on the Practice of Public Accounting. On the other hand, this same September 27th was also Public Accountant Day. In addition, 43 new certified public accountants were sworn in, including myself.

To be honest, I did not expect the event to be so grand. I expected a much simpler event, a quick ceremony. However, I must say that I was surprised by the logistics, the grand ceremony that was set up, with three giant screens, professional sound, and staff attentive to every detail, which made me feel quite good. It is noteworthy that the board of directors of the Aragua State Association of Accountants did everything possible to ensure that this event was carried out in the most solemn manner possible. Everything was perfectly organized and, in that sense, it was carried out according to schedule, impeccably.

As can be seen in the photos, the Grand Hall of Oda was perfectly decorated and prepared to welcome both the 43 new public accountants who were to be sworn in, as well as other special guests from the Association of Accountants, many of whom had long careers in the field of public accounting.

After the choir sang the national anthem, the anthem of the state of Aragua, and the anthem of the public accountant, speeches were given by the board of directors, in which they mentioned and emphasized the code of ethics and other values that are fundamental in the field of public accounting. After a few minutes, the new public accountants were called in alphabetical order. But before that, a general oath was taken, in which we committed ourselves to practicing this profession with dignity and in accordance with the law.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the party began. There was live music, including a professional violinist who put on a great show. He had everyone singing and dancing with a prepared show that left nothing to be desired and lived up to expectations. After a few hours, the party came to an end, following recognition of the careers of other public accountants and a great dance, in which everyone was encouraged to participate and celebrate this important day.

I, in particular, left that place with great satisfaction, as I now have the public accountant code with which I will be able to practice independently, thus beginning a new stage in my professional life, for which I have high expectations. It took almost 10 years for this to happen, but I have learned that it is never too late to take steps that can help us improve our daily lives and open doors and other opportunities. Going forward, I am very curious to see how I will fare in this field as an independent professional, but that is something I will discover over time.
