There are games that have the ability to transcend the passing of time and that people will talk about for decades to come. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 is undoubtedly one of those games, with its revolutionary gameplay, graphics, and the union of a large number of iconic characters who simply must face each other in the arena for us to have unlimited fun.
I never had a Nintendo 64, but I had the opportunity to play this game with a cousin who occasionally invited me over to his house to hang out. Back then, up to four people could play simultaneously, and it was complete madness in that room when the games got really intense.
In the previous images, you saw the game's splash screen, as well as part of the options menu, where I want to highlight the character selection. There are eight characters to choose from, which can be a problem when selecting them, as they are undoubtedly iconic, and unless you have a default favorite, it will take you a couple of minutes to decide. I chose Pikachu from Pokémon, but I could have easily chosen someone else.
During gameplay, I battled characters such as Link, Fox, the Yoshi Team, Mario Bros, and Pikachu himself. Regarding the characters, I found their different abilities quite striking, which probably cause the same level of damage, but visually have each character's personal stamp.
As is often the case in most games, the difficulty level increases as you progress through the stages. While it may not seem like the most complex game out there, there are certain moments when you feel the pressure of the difficulty, and in that sense, you need to adjust your strategy to avoid defeat.
In the video, you can relive moments from the game, and if you've never played it before, you'll get to know part of the beautiful story of Super Smash Bros, a game that was later released on other platforms and, like the Nintendo 64 version, continued to be very successful. It was a pleasure to share this with you all once again. Cheers!
