In the latest episodes of the One Piece anime, we've seen some more decisive elements of the story. Honestly, I had stopped watching the anime for several weeks simply because I didn't like what I was seeing. I had already read it in the manga, but I feel like the plot has been stretched out, and well, that's always been the case with the One Piece anime. So this weekend I dedicated myself to watching the latest episodes of the anime, and I was able to see the battles of the five elders against Luffy in his most powerful mode, if you will, and the presumed death of Doctor Vegapunk.
It has been quite interesting, and I won't deny that seeing these historical events from the One Piece story in animation has been quite rewarding. However, I have a very personal feeling that I'm immersed in, and that is that I feel that lately the story has become a bit cartoonish. I'm not referring to Luffy's transformation, in which this exaggerated or cartoonish effect is generated around him, but because, in the first place, I never liked the transformation of the five elders into five big monsters. I've never liked it when villains or heroes in anime transform into giant people or giant monsters. I feel like it distorts the battles, but hey, this is One Piece, and giant monsters have always been part of the story as such.

The truth is that there is still a long way to go. I think that, without a doubt, the story will probably get a little more serious at some point. Secrets will continue to be revealed, and interesting elements will continue to be revealed that make this anime very unique. That's why, after so many years, we're still watching One Piece. I'm sure there are even better things to come, and well, those who are following the manga undoubtedly have an advantage over those of us who aren't as up to date, but we're also interested in watching the anime.
On the other hand, regarding the Doctor Vegapunk arc, honestly, I don't feel that it is one of the best, however, I understand that it provides a lot of important information for the development of the plot. I liked this arc more towards the end than at the beginning, which I found quite boring with the theme of Doctor Vegapunk's replicas with different names, etc. I won't deny that it has its charm, but personally, I never found it very appealing. I feel like it's also an arc that drags on a lot, with a lot of filler, but it's undoubtedly a very important one for the events to come.

I will definitely watch the One Piece manga and anime until the end. I feel that it is one of the best stories I have ever seen. However, I must admit that in recent months I have felt a certain discouragement or disinterest in what we were seeing in the story in general. I think there has been a slowdown in the interesting and intriguing aspects that One Piece has always had, or perhaps it is a kind of mental block that I have due to my eagerness to see something more climactic, something more concrete in terms of the mysteries of One Piece. These are probably the mental blocks we sometimes have with long anime series, where we even feel a certain rejection, but over time we end up regaining all that excitement and interest. Right now, I feel like I'm experiencing that dip in interest, but despite that, I'm still paying close attention to what's happening because, without a doubt, I'm very curious to know what this wonderful and fantastic story of One Piece has in store. So, despite everything, I'll always be there, present and attentive.
