This is my post for #freewriters 2846 prompt applaud me! hosted by @mariannewest
It is funny how a sister can call and say, "You want to spend the day together, doing whatever?" It is like she somehow knew I needed a friendly ear. We have always had a special connection, and she knew I needed her. If I need to be lifted up, or if it is her that needs it, we are there for each other. She will always be there to applaud me! and I her.
We rode around and found one yard sale. She bought a box of ratchet straps and bike locks for 10 dollars. I did not buy anything.
We looked for more sales but did not find any, but as we drove around, we saw someone put out a curb alert. A curb alert is when someone wants rid of stuff and they do not want to haul it to the thrift stores or dump, they will take a picture and post it for free for someone to drive by and pick up. We saw the things by the road, but all I wanted was the little wooden stool and the piece of pine tree root with air plants attached to it.
There was a nice rug, but I did not need it, 3 boogie boards, but my sister said the girls have them. Now I can not remember what the other items were, but I am sure someone who needs them will stop and pick them up.
With no more yard sales to be found, we took her grandkids to the park by the river. They got to play, and I got to look at the river.
We have started getting our afternoon thunderstorms, so it was time to go. My sister went home after dropping me off at home because of the storm. I do not know what happened at her house, but here, it barely wet the ground, it was dark clouds for 30 minutes, and then blue sky.
