This is my post for #freewriters 2852 prompt not a decoration hosted by @mariannewest
My sister arrived at 8 this morning to pick me up. I told her I would ride with her to Port St Lucie to buy a clarinet for her granddaughter, she needs one for school. The school "loaned her one," but they charge my sister 36 dollars a month for her to use it. I find that crazy. I can see charging if she damaged it, but having to pay to use an instrument that the school has on hand is only greed. Imagine if they charge each child this amount for an instrument they will get back and charge the next child.
My sister was told to buy it at Melody Music, they wanted 2,000 dollars for a used one. That was not a typo. She found this one on marketplace for 75 dollars, but the lady accepted 70 for it. The teacher also said she could not buy one from Amazon, and to check with her before buying it, we did not. My sister said she would get what she could afford, and the teacher will have to live with it!!! To tell the truth, my sister could not afford the 70 dollars she paid, but said she will make do.
Later, I was on the phone with her and heard her telling her granddaughter not to peel something off of it, I guess whatever it was, was not a decoration.
After getting the clarinet, we decided not to take I-95 home and go to US1. What happened to us is what always happens, somehow, we got on the wrong road. Which turned out great because we found 4 yard sales.
The first yardsale we found was in a park and had several tables with people selling their items. A man was selling pineapple plants, I know I do not need another one when I have over 70 in pots, but I do not have any Maui Gold pineapples.
The man selling them said he brought the mother plant from Hawaii 9 years ago, he got it from the Dole Pineapple farm there. I have been wanting a Maui Gold but never thought I would get one because the ones you buy in the stores are green when they pick them, and I refuse to buy and eat them green. Now all I need to do is find the white pineapple like I used to have. Their leaves are serrated, and I got tired of getting cut, so I got rid of them. That was a mistake, I should have kept one.
At one yard sale, my sister found 3 wire shelves for her camper, and I found a laminated road map of Fl, I do not have a GPS in my truck, and neither does my husband's truck. We tried to pay the lady, and she said we could have the items. A little boy was there, so my sister gave him a couple of dollars. photos are mine
